I remember very clearly where I was when I heard the news. It was a hammer blow. More than thirty years on, Yitzhak Rabinโs assassination remains a stark reminder of how fragile peace is, and of the courage it takes to make the difficult decisions needed to pursue it.

Honoured to join the annual olive harvest this morning and to meet inspiring Jewish & Arab women from @SindyannaG of Galilee, promoting fair trade & peace through olive oil. The harvest must unite communities. No one should fear violence or intimidation for cultivating their land

Although previous speakers and many in the audience at the @Jerusalem_Post Diplomatic Conference weren't pleased: I reiterated the united and unchanged position of the EU and all its member states: settlements are illegal under international law, and settler violence has to stop.

The fate of the Bibas family is one of the most heartbreaking chapters of 7/10. The cruel abduction and eventual murder of Shira, Ariel & Kfir shocks our conscience. I was extremely moved to hear from Ofri Bibas Levi about the ordeal suffered by her brother Yarden. ืืื ืืืจื ืืจืื

Today the world marks three years since that black October 7th 2023.
Since that fateful morning when Hamas terrorists massacred 1195 people in Israel. Since 251 people, including young children and the elderly, were dragged from their homes and taken hostage.
Some days stay with you. The scars are still raw for so many.
The @Europarl_EN remembers the victims of that day of horror as we recommit to ending terrorism, finding a path to peace and redoubling our efforts to stamp out the ancient evil of antisemitism.

Today we remember the victims of the horrific Hamas attacks of 7 October 2023 in Israel.
We pay tribute to the Israeli and foreign citizens massacred that day and stand with their families and loved ones. We also remember the injured and those taken hostage.
We will never forget. Nothing can justify such terror, and it must never happen again.
The EU will always defend Israelโs right to exist in peace and security. The two-State solution remains the only viable path to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.

Today marks three years since the terrorist attacks of 7 October in Israel.
We honour the victims and stand with the families who still carry the heavy weight of grief.
We remember the young lives cut short at a music festival. And the long ordeal of the hostages.
The EU stands with all those whose lives were forever changed by that day.
The unspeakable savagery and terror of 7 October must never happen again.
The EU remains ready to help turn todayโs fragile ceasefire into a durable peace, based on a two-state solution.
And remains equally convinced that nothing justifies terror.

The 7 October attacks were a barbaric act of terror. Today, we stand with Israel in remembering every life taken and destroyed at the hands of the Hamas terrorists.
Our thoughts are with the victims, the survivors, their families and all those who continue to carry the pain of that terrible day.
We must firmly reject any form of antisemitism across Europe. Jewish communities must be able to live openly, safely and without fear.
Hamas brought unspeakable suffering to the Israeli people and left devastation in its wake. Hamas must disarm so that the Gaza Peace Plan to move forward.

EU member states' ambassadors and I marked the 3rd anniversary of the Oct 7 terrorist attacks today in Nir Oz. One in every four members of this beautiful community was either killed or kidnapped, a heinous massacre that cannot be justified by any cause. We remember the victims๐ฏ

The @Europarl_EN is a place where everyone must feel safe, secure and protected.
We cannot have actions that could make people fearful of speaking; we cannot have damage to property and we cannot have attempts to intimidate rather than to debate.
At a time of rising global antisemitism, we owe it to Europe's Jewish community to ensure that when they look to us, they see that this is their House too.

Last night, my deputy Jocelyn and I had the great honour to attend a Simchat Beit Hashoeva by the Sadigura Hasidim. An incredible event, which demonstrated why Jews call Sukkot "the time of our happiness." Thank you to the Admor of Sadigura and @shlomoweiser for the hospitality!
