The US to exclude Rwanda from AGOA once again.
In 2018, the US suspended Rwanda’s preferential trade benefits under AGOA. Why? Because Rwanda stood up for its local textile industry and challenged the importation of second-hand clothes from the US.
Rwanda called on fellow East African countries to reduce their reliance on imported second-hand clothing and focus instead on building local manufacturing capacity, creating jobs, and strengthening domestic industries.
The US opposed this policy and pressured Rwanda to reverse its position. While other EAC countries bowed to US pressure, Rwanda maintained its stance, arguing that Africa needed to build its own industrial capacity rather than remain dependent on imported used clothing.
The consequence was the suspension of Rwanda’s AGOA benefits in 2018.
Now, years later, Washington is once again moving toward excluding Rwanda, alongside South Africa, from AGOA.
My question: Is AGOA being used purely as a trade development programme, or is access to it increasingly influenced by political and diplomatic considerations?

We might not know what the solution is to fix our country but I sure as hell know that solution doesn't lie with the DA
Asshole is back!

Before you vote this week, remember that the Concourt ruled that in the WC the DA perpetuates apartheid spatial planning whose intent is to keep blacks in the outskirts of the city of Cape Town. They do this by selling public land to commercial interests instead of public good

Ideology > Policy > Service Delivery
For service delivery to happen, it must be driven by policies which are influenced by ideology. For now ActionSA izokwenza because they need votes but uzoyibona when they start acting on their policies the day they get power🤣👍🏻
Policies don’t clean cities Mashy. You think a Mayor needs a policy to love and care for people? For example unlike DA, currently at Tshwane ActionSA is delivering services to places the DA never cared to consider, they care for everyone. That’s humanity and love for people. No piece of paper can produce that. You either love the people you are delivering services to or you don’t.

There's no such thing as "Zulu nationalism" , it has never existed.
AmaZulu are actually the biggest VICTIMS of IFP which was initially a cultural society that Gatsha turned into political weapon using symbols and culture of AmaZulu together with CIA and apartheid intelligence
It is not lost to anyone with a memory how white racists instinctively seek Zulu nationalism, as a partner in their quest to divide and conquer. I hope those who lost relatives, were maimed and lost property in KZN, the East Rand, those who survived the violence on trains and hostels, will speak. The Zulu nation, a proud "member" of South Africa's rich tapestry, will tell us if they approve of right wing SA's renewed interest in them. And the rest of South Africa? Apartheid South Africa's financial and security support for the IFP cost this country dearly. Do we want that again?

And let’s not forget that the Constitutional Court found that the DA government is perpetuating apartheid spatial planning by pushing low income workers out of the city!
Apartheid spatial planning caused this. People don't have access to affordable housing close to the workplace. They have to travel from townships via taxis. Housing backlogs and lack of affordable rentals is a factor here @geordinhl @alanwinde
They are brining out the coons again🙄
As a black person, I am honestly tired of seeing/hearing other black people say things like, “I hate blacks who support the DA,” “The DA is a white party,” or “Only stupid blacks vote for the DA.” Who gave you the authority to decide how another black person should think or vote? Are we not free to make our own political choices?
Being black does not mean I must subscribe to a particular political ideology or blindly support a political party because of its historical association with black people. I refuse to have my intelligence questioned simply because I see political value in a party you dislike.
We fought for democracy, not for the right to exchange one form of political intolerance for another. You don't own black people's votes, and you certainly don't own their minds. Stop confusing political loyalty with black consciousness. I am just as black as you, even when my cross is next to the DA.
Vote @Our_DA

There shouldn’t be “a first white” anything in post apartheid South Africa. This headline pissed me off
Helen Zille could soon be the first white mayor of post-apartheid Johannesburg. Such a result could point to the beginnings of a less racialised politics economist.com/middle-east-an…
