Prior to 2016 would a cabinet secretary ever have dreamed of writing to a senator in these personal and insulting terms? Part of an extraordinary coarsening of political discourse. For what it’s worth, Warren’s original letter is probing but not aggressive or impolite.
Exclusive: FOX Business obtained the response from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to the latest request for information from Senator Elizabeth Warren.
The Senator has sent more than 100 letters to Treasury asking for information in the past 21 months. The Secretary snarky at times in the response saying, "Rather than take my suggestion of studying introductory economics, you have continued your letter-writing crusade and participation in tabloid fodder about the Treasury Department." Secretary Bessent also added a hand-written note at the bottom of the letter. (Picture attached)
Senator Warren sent a letter dated October 10th asking for more information about what the Trump Administration is doing to lower borrowing costs for average Americans. In the letter the Senator accuses the Treasury Secretary of increasing costs saying, "The surge in Treasury yields is self-inflicted and follows the Fed's decision to raise the federal funds rate by a quarter of a percentage point, driven by concerns about inflation." The Treasury Secretary refuted that characterization in his letter, adding, "It is difficult to treat your concern as sincere." Adding, "As the federal funds rate climbed from near zero to its highest level in 22 years, with inflation hitting a 40-year high, you were a cheerleader for the Biden Administration's reckless spending."
The Secretary finishes the letter offering "a Foreign Exchange for Dummies tutorial still, and if you receive a passing grade to the Yale metric, not the Harvard curve, I would be happy to also include a Fixed Income for Dummies."

This is the most corrupt President in history. He doesn't even hide it, but this Republican Congress is too afraid to even criticize him.
A Democratic Congress will investigate the corruption and hold Trump accountable.

Total chaos in Russian cities after Ukraine's strikes on just two Yandex data centers wipes out GPS, payment systems, taxi apps and the largest websites, across the country.
Russia's centralized North Korean style internet is the country's weakness, the inability to relocate loads to neighboring nations, as Ukraine does when data centers were struck.

MORE: Moscow has insisted on painting Ukraine as the intransigent party in peace efforts despite the fact that Russia has not offered any concessions and has rejected numerous compromise proposals that the US and Ukraine have offered. Putin’s October 9 reiteration of his commitment to Russia’s unchanged war aims demonstrates the Kremlin’s continued unwillingness to accept any compromised peace proposals on any terms that fall short of fulfilling Russia’s maximalist demands of Ukraine’s complete capitulation.
Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, October 10, 2026: Russian President Vladimir Putin used his phone call with US President Donald Trump on October 9 to falsely blame Ukraine for the lack of peace negotiations' progress despite Russia's continued unwillingness to engage in meaningful negotiations or make any concessions to end the war in Ukraine.
Other Key Takeaways:
The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) is presenting a tailored weekly summary of the Russian forces' exaggerated military successes aimed specifically at Russia's domestic audience through Max – the new social media platform that the Russian state has developed to control the Russian internet.
US President Donald Trump's October 9 announcement about the diesel export deal between the United States and Russia disrupted the negotiations meeting between a Ukrainian delegation and US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff and former Senior Advisor to the US President Jared Kushner in Miami.
Ukrainian forces conducted drone strikes against oil and railway infrastructure in Rostov Oblast on October 10. Russian forces launched 160 drones against Ukraine overnight.

Amid all this madness, I want to thank our British partners for a characteristically British response: calm, cool, and collected.
The UK stands with Ukraine. It will continue to do so. No easing of sanctions on russia - and a clear call for others to hold the line.
Thank you for showing what principled leadership looks like. 🇺🇦🇬🇧

So now the President of the United States is calling for regime change in Ukraine. Why? Because they won't roll over and die. This is one of the blackest days in American history. Trump is giving aid and comfort to our main enemy, while attacking our friend and ally.

As a reminder, this is already illegal.
The Senate voted 100-0 to ban it.
We sanction other countries for it.
It’s literally an impeachable offence.
Congress MUST enforce.

Davram Stiefler: “What made you love Trump so much?”
Trump supporter: “Well because he does what he says and he’s open, he’s not a normal politician”
DS: “He said he was gonna end the Ukraine war on day one. It’s kinda going on for a while, are you concerned about that one, that promise?”
TS: “No because I think he’s doing what we need to do and we need to get this so that uhm… we don’t want them to have a nuclear bomb”
DS: “Oh, I said Ukraine”
TS: “Well he tried but you know that’s not just up to him”
Trump supporter 2: “That was his plan, but Arnold Schwarzenegger said war plans are great until the first shot’s fired. Smartest general we ever had”

Canada is willing and able to supply more deisel at a lesser cost to the US but Trump refuses and prefers Russia because Canada hurt Trump's feelings by rejecting 51st state offer and fighting his tariffs. America's fuel and economic problems are all Trump ego driven mistakes.

Trumps unnecessary war with Iran is the cause of higher diesel and gas prices in the US, not Ukraine.
Trump blaming Zelenskyy is both empirically wrong and morally disgusting.

MAGA grandma read to call ICE on Black woman—for riding the bus.
"Go back to your country!" she yells.
"You don't belong here!"
"This is America—go back to Haiti or wherever you're from you foreigner!"
"Get your nose pushed in," she says making mocking gestures about her face.
Woman even threatens violence—screaming "I'll snap you like a twig!"
The bus driver at first stops the bus and orders the abusive woman to get off.
But then he lets her stay on after she pleads that she "can be quiet" and that "she's good" now.
Incident occurred on Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus 6367 near Arlington Ave.

Congress, and the American people, have been clear that we do not support buying Russian oil to fund Putin’s war in Ukraine. Just weeks ago, an overwhelming majority in the House passed legislation to levy steep new sanctions on the sale of Russian oil. And before I came to Congress, there was a near unanimous vote to expressly prohibit the import of Russian oil with the Ending Importation of Russian Oil Law. The President’s decision to buy Russian oil is in direct conflict with the will of Congress and the intent of these laws.
I have been in direct communication with both my Republican and Democratic House members who share my opposition to the President’s ill conceived action. I am working with my colleagues to introduce bipartisan legislation that will block any and all purchase of Russian oil.

Actually, I think it's worth saying once again that we in Ukraine deeply appreciate all the Americans who, in one way or another, support Ukraine and sympathize with us. Who still do, despite everything, after all these years, sincerely and selflessly, simply because it is in keeping with their values.
We know and remember that there are very many such Americans, even a majority, up to 70%, across both parties.
These are the people working in the corridors of power and trying to make a difference, those who actively volunteer to help Ukraine, and simply those who care and stay with us all these years.
There are a lot of emotions, a lot of hurt feelings, and there may also be plenty of unfair and careless words directed at America. But we extend our hands in friendship and gratitude to everyone who has stood, and continues to stand, on the side of good amid all this madness.
And don't forget, we still have one hell of a massive international drinking party to throw together in Kyiv on the first Christmas time after the war.
