Today marks the second day of our peaceful sit-in outside IRCC.
Families have gathered in the cold, and children are standing alongside their parents, hoping their voices will reach those who have the power to listen.
Behind every immigration file is a real family. Behind every uncertain decision is a child who deserves to feel safe.
Mandatory military service was not a choice for many Iranian men. Their children certainly had no choice in it.
We ask Canadian authorities to recognize the human impact of these cases, listen to affected families, and ensure that compulsory service is assessed fairly and individually.
No child should have to stand in the cold to ask for a secure future.
