What does CASE-BY-CASE assessment mean to a family waiting for an immigration decision?
It means hoping that the circumstances of a loved one will be understood. It means trying to plan a future while facing uncertainty. It means wondering whether a compulsory period of conscription will overshadow everything else in an application.
The government promised individual assessments, but families need clear information about the guidelines officers are following.
Families should not have to guess how their cases are being assessed.
We ask the Canadian government to explain the rules, clarify the criteria, and ensure that individual circumstances receive meaningful consideration.
We also ask Canadian media to listen to these families and investigate their concerns. Their experiences deserve to be heard, and the public deserves answers about how this policy is implemented.
Fairness is not a demand for automatic approval. It is a demand for a fair assessment of each individual case.
