Canadians deserve a national security system that identifies genuine threats—not one that mistakes people forced into mandatory conscription for willing supporters of a regime.
When Canada distinguishes coercion from voluntary participation, it strengthens security, protects the integrity of its immigration system, and ensures resources are focused on those who pose real risks.
Canada can protect its people and uphold its values of fairness and justice at the same time. We urge the government to ensure that every case is assessed on individual evidence, not conscription alone.

The Liberals National Security Strategy fails to explain how the government will keep actual terrorists and regime operatives out of the country.
At the same time, Iranians who were forced into mandatory IRGC conscription with no choice are being caught up in the screening system.
