Imagine thinking you can be a communist and a Latter-day Saint.

Weird side effect from this election cycle:
Liberal LDS accounts that have cried about peacemaking for years
Are now showing their true vengeful & hateful colors.
Jim is a miserable man who delights in the misery of others. Normal people don’t act like this. This is the behavior of a 60 year old man who was spoiled as a child and never learned how to be a graceful and honorable winner. Pray for him since there’s something dark about him.

Umm, putting Joseph Smith's head on chairman Mao is just as bad as putting it on Hitler's.
ByCovidConsent is writing cope articles trying to rewrite the definition of sin by saying “sins are subjective”
You know, I suppose it’s possible Jim is ignoring the mountains of data that say members are generally happier than ex-members but let’s share some data for JimJim

“Why did Mainline Protestantism die?”
Because of thousands of little interactions like this.
The selection of clergy for a Mainline congregation often rests with a small “committee” made up of influential local members (those who have donated a great deal—and, often, their children generations later, who may control a trust).
Eventually, as future generations revert to the mean, the fail son / daughter of noble men from generations past wields power without wisdom, and selects the “theological genius” whose brilliance consists entirely in agreeing with the politics of said fail son / daughter.
The “genius” clergyman isn’t terribly bright, but *does* understand that keeping the committee happy is what keeps him / her in the job—the congregation is secondary at best.
So the clergyman strokes the ego of the committee, the committee basks in its own “genius” at having selected such a “genius” and the congregation dwindles and departs.
Eventually, they are left with an old building, a few dutiful parishioners driven by inertia as much as anything else, and a clergyman with a sinecure.
A whited sepulcher, filled with corruption, yes, but mostly just empty.

Exmos and LDS critics are a unique bunch of people.
After all, how many people create dedicated X accounts and devote 20+ posts a day to talk about leaving other religions, quitting their jobs, canceling their gym memberships, dropping out of a Multi Level Marketing scheme, escaping an HOA, cancelling a timeshare, or switching your auto insurance?
Full-time devotion to tearing down a global Christian religion must be tiring.
