alright nerds, new role: I'm pumped to be joining @Zama as Ecosystem Partnerships Lead! The backstory... We're at an interesting point in crypto's lifecycle. The infrastructure has matured, and the focus has shifted from speculation to institutional-grade rails, and everyone's racing to get real financial institutions onchain. What's holding them back is the unglamorous stuff: privacy, compliance, regulation. Bringing crypto products to market means solving for real use cases. If you're paying staff, settling supplier contracts, or sending money to family abroad, no one wants that sitting in public view forever. Crypto rails are categorically better than legacy banking rails. But without stronger privacy, institutions (and everyday people) won't move volume using crypto systems. Zama exists to fix that: a confidentiality layer sitting on top of all blockchain technology (chains, protocols, and much more), built on fully homomorphic encryption (FHE). Three reasons why i'm excited: → Team: Zama's been building state-of-the-art FHE for years and publishing cutting-edge research for a while. 9 out of 10 companies using FHE today run on Zama's tech. → Timing: privacy is now a non-negotiable to onramp institutional capital, and Zama's sitting right where that demand is going (up + to the right). → Opportunity: Partnerships here are still early, and there's huge scope to build the playbook from scratch (which I love). I'm super grateful for everything I learned at @Optimism / @OPLabsPBC- I joined almost three years ago when we were a tiny partnerships team (always punching above our weight). I learned more there than I could fit in a post, and I'll always be rootin' for OP. Excited to build the future of privacy for institutions with the world-class team at Zama: @randhindi, @jeremycbradley , @arik_g , @ankurb, and many more! (A special shout-out to @crypto_irene , who I'm excited to collab with again 👸!) --- If you're a financial institution/FinTech or building towards solutions in tokenization/payments/ DeFi, and privacy & compliance are on your mind, feel free to reach out!

in all seriousness, I feel like if a hack this size happened a few years ago, it would’ve been the end of the industry. its more than a blip but less than what it could’ve been - for that I’m grateful for everyone who builds in this space

it might sound woo woo, but radiating positive energy is the closest thing to magic i've found. tip generously, compliment strangers, share your knowledge with no expectation of anything in return. give like you have more than enough, and eventually you’ll find that you do.

A former colleague asked me what I do now. He works in tech, but not in crypto, and I realized it’s actually quite hard to explain what we’re building in this crazy industry to someone outside of it. So here’s my explanation: You know how finance today basically runs on private systems controlled by banks, brokers, payment companies, etc.? There’s a broader shift happening to move financial assets and transactions onto open, programmable networks. That’s one of the big ideas behind the blockchain technology, and what people mean when they talk about finance moving “onchain.” The internet made information open and programmable, creating a whole new world. Blockchain is trying to do something similar for assets and money, making value easier to move, exchange, and program across an open network, instead of being locked inside separate financial systems. If money is going to live on an open network, you obviously still need privacy. You don’t want everyone to see how much money you have or every transaction you make. That's the current issue with blockchains: they're transparent by default. We’re building the solution at @zama: bringing privacy to this new financial infrastructure in a way that works with real-world financial requirements. Not privacy to hide things. Confidentiality that actually enables finance to work onchain. 6 years of cryptography research have turned into a live protocol, with Confidential Tokens at its core. And it’s starting to work at real scale. The idea is simple: take what you can already do with digital assets onchain and make it confidential. Hold, transfer, trade, invest, earn yield, while your balances and transactions stay encrypted. In less than a year, confidential assets using the protocol have reached $130M. More integrations and partnerships are coming. Still early :) zama.org

A confidentiality milestone for onchain credit $100M+ is now earning yield from Morpho Vaults via @zama, with positions and earnings kept in confidence.
MILESTONE: $100M+ is now earning yield on @Morpho using confidential tokens. The same curators and strategies institutional capital already uses. Positions and earnings stay encrypted onchain. Deposit and earn at app.zama.org/earn

this is the queen right here - built the team, drove confidential defi forward, built the partnerships and now we're well on the way to $1B in shielded TVL. Lots more to do, but we would be so much further behind without irene. She brought me to Zama, and I'll be forever grateful. we've got a long way to go, but when you're excited about what you're building, and most importantly who you're building with, then you can't ask for much more. So much more to come, onward 🫡 🟡
I’m very excited and honored, to announce that I’ve been named Chief Business Officer at @zama . I’ve spent almost twelve years in crypto. I’ve watched it go from a fringe experiment to something institutions can no longer ignore, through every cycle, every boom, every collapse, every slow rebuild of trust after. One gap never closed through any of it - blockchains ask every institution, every business, every person to run their finances in the open. That was never going to be what brings real money onchain at scale. I joined Zama in November 2025, right before mainnet, because I believe confidentiality is the infrastructure that finally makes that possible - Zama makes it possible. It’s the bridge that lets the institutions holding the world’s capital actually move onchain. This past year our business team signed partnerships across major players, launched confidential DeFi, and built a pipeline that holds up against anything else in this space. That work has been a game-changer putting Zama at the forefront, showcasing what confidentiality can bring to the table and what the new internet of tomorrow could look like at scale. @randhindi and the board are putting real weight behind where this team can take Zama next. I feel that responsibility. Thank you to Rand, to the board and to every person at Zama who makes this real every day. Now, let's go win!

onchain privacy = just how things should work Just how things WILL work. Onward 🫡.
It’s hard to make things simple. It took us years of cryptography and engineering. Today, shielding a token takes one transaction. Same token, same chain, no bridging. Your balance and transfer amounts are encrypted onchain. Hold it, send it, earn on it, swap it. That’s what it should feel like. Not a feature you go and find, just how things work. Try it at app.zama.org

Your entire life will change when you realize clarity creates motivation. A vague future gives you nothing to move toward. Decide what you want. Decide what you refuse to become. Reverse-engineer to make a plan. When you know where you're going, it's easier to move.

We spend a lot of time speaking with financial institutions, capital allocators, LPs, family offices etc who want to allocate more to onchain vaults, and they want their positions and yield to be kept private. @crypto_irene just walked through how we solve for this at @zama and what we’ve achieved with confidential vaults / DeFi over the past few months. So much more to come. 🔥

5. Motivation comes and goes. That's true for everyone. Some of the most driven people on earth wake up and don't feel like it. The answer isn't complicated. Do your work.

4. A big goal is only useful if it turns into a schedule. Write down the eight gold medals if you want. Fine. Then you still have to swim the 500 free that's right in front of your nose this morning. How do you eat an elephant. One bite at a time.
