*sigh* because the British press hasn’t spelt this out I will. (Is it spelled or spelt?)
Anyway … The EU believes its law takes precedence over Poland’s sovereign law (even its Constitution, wherever EU law applies)
Poland’s Constitution says it is the SUPREME law of the country (I agree)
Now Donald Tusk’s is battling his own people over control of Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal, with police on the streets and the court’s leadership removed (because they disagreed with the EU’s position).
the European Commission is, of course, backing Tusk on the appointment of judges. ( as long as they agree with the EU position)
Brussels insists the Tribunal must respect rulings of the EU Court of Justice (because they believe their rule is superior to sovereignty)
AND They dare to call this “defending the rule of law”
And THIS ladies and gentlemen is why I voted to leave. You’re welcome 🔥
This might be because the governments are required o do what the voters want. I believe it's called democracy.
While much of Europe drowns in debt, Switzerland offers a radical alternative: spend within your means, keep taxes low and let markets work.
In the 2026 Heritage Index of Economic Freedom, Switzerland ranks second in the world. Property rights are strongly protected, regulation is light by European standards, and fiscal health remains sound. Public debt sits well below the levels common among its neighbours while the tax-to-GDP ratio is 27 per cent, closer to the United States than to France or Germany. A constitutional debt brake, approved by voters in 2001, requires the federal budget to balance over the cycle and has constrained the growth of spending even through crises.
Openness has reinforced the discipline. Switzerland maintains high levels of trade relative to the size of its economy and has long treated foreign investment and competition as normal rather than as threats. Neutrality has kept it outside the military and fiscal commitments that have expanded state budgets elsewhere. The combination has produced a high-income economy whose government does not need to borrow continuously to fund its operations.
The contrast is stark. Countries that raised taxes, expanded entitlements, and treated debt as a routine tool of policy now face the arithmetic those choices created. Switzerland’s approach has been less dramatic and less frequently celebrated but has proven much more durable.
Low taxes and open markets just works.

How can we afford this and why should we want to?
"UK to fund poorer EU countries in new Brexit deal"
The shakedown continues... 🙄
Why on earth should the right to trade energy with the EU be contingent on the UK providing development aid to poorer EU countries?
Would, say, Canada pay tribute to the US in this way?

People who are worried about corporate monopolies should be just as worried about government monopolies.

They're just driven insane by their inability to argue their case. So they want to kill everyone.
Scott Galloway calls Elon Musk a "traitor to the West" and invokes the executions of the Rosenbergs after WW2.
"We lined up the Rosenbergs against a wall. This is a traitor to the West, and he should be held to the same standards as every other traitor in the West."
*Applause*
These people are absolutely unhinged.

If you are a sane, rational person who can perform simple maths and cares about the economy of their country and the future of the people within it, then you should be livid with the government this morning.
There is no part of the proposed EU reset terms, that you should be remotely happy about. The entire deal is giving the EU what it wants, and dressing it up as a benefit for the UK when it is anything but.
- Promising to not deport EU criminals
- Paying billions a year to build infrastructure in Eastern Europe
- Subsidizing EU students to study in the UK, costing hundreds of millions a year
- Putting UK laws in the control of the EU again, with no say at all from Parliament
- Adding hundreds of millions of costs onto imports from non-EU countries
- Making imported EV cars 30% more expensive, to help EU car manufacturers
- Giving 80-100,000 extra youth visas a year, increasing competition and driving down wages for our unemployed youth
- Stopping checks on imported agrifoods, increasing risk of diseases currently rampant in EU livestock entering the UK
All of this with the reason of making exporting food to the EU easier, which we do virtually none of and never did, as we are an island that consumes more than it produces.
It doesn't matter if you ultimately want to rejoin the EU or not. This isn't about that. This is about an atrocious deal and our atrocious government.
Fight this with everything you've got.

Imagine telling your family that money is tight.
So, you increase your spending, borrow more, & tell everyone they need to work harder to pay for it.
Then you congratulate yourself on making the difficult decisions.
You'd be laughed out of the room.
Why do we allow it from the Government?

Underrated life advice: Your best years don't have to be behind you. You can be in the best shape of your life at 50. Start the company at 60. Fall in love at 70. Reinvent yourself at 80. Change doesn’t have an expiration date. Your best years are yours to create. So just start.
Agree completely. And I'm a decade older than you.
I'm 62.
I've written 17 books and built businesses online since the 90s. (Yeah, time flies...)
And I'm learning more right now, with AI, than I did in my 30s. No joke.
If you're over 50 and think your window closed, it didn't. The tools just caught up to your experience.
Experience matters more than the technology.
Agree or disagree?

I regret to inform you that the best gym program is repeating the same 10-12 exercises and getting stronger at them until you die.
You sure that's a grown man?
Okay, like you're five.
You have money.
You want a toy.
You don't have enough money for the toy.
Does the toy store owe you the toy?
No.
Now imagine someone offers you $10 to clean their room.
You want $20.
Do they owe you $20 because you want it?
No.
You can say no, find someone who pays more, or learn to do something people will pay more for.
And if someone else has $1,000, does that mean they owe you their money?
Still no.
See? Most five-year-olds can understand this.
Which makes it baffling that grown men struggle with it.
But that's what happens when you switch off your brain and let your emotions do the thinking.
Wanting something doesn't make someone else responsible for providing it.

Here's @EmmaforWycombe
She's a @UKLabour MP and the Chief Secretary to The Treasury.
She's NEVER had ANY employment beyond lobbying and politics.
She's the moronic airhead who recently declared that employers aren't working people.
She knows absolutely NOTHING about business, commerce or hard graft.
Her hands are as soft as fairy dust, she's never had dirty finger nails and her arse has been moulded to the shape of whichever "chair" she's been appointed to during her "career" of avoiding doing any actual work.
She has no grasp whatsoever on how this country is kept afloat by it's millions of small businesses and it's business owners.
She's an absolutely clueless waste of space. Totally out of her depth. An empty vessel with no hope of EVER understanding the endeavour, courage, entrepreneurial spirit and downright tenacity of millions of us who run businesses in this pitiful country that people like her have ruined through sheer incompetence, ignorance and indifference for the working people who foolishly voted for them.
She perfectly sums up what's wrong with a system that promotes useless failures to lofty positions of power and encourages them to stamp on the heads of the people who truly care about this country and it's citizens and are prepared to get off their arses to do something about it.
