German Chancellor Friedrich Merz:
"There are no longer any range restrictions on weapons supplied to Ukraine, not from the British, not from the French, not from us, not from the Americans either. This means that Ukraine can now also defend itself by attacking military positions in Russia, for example.
It couldn't do that until some time ago, and with very few exceptions, it didn't do that until some time ago. Now it can. In jargon, we call this long-range fire, i.e., equipping Ukraine with weapons that attack military targets in the rear.
And that is the decisive qualitative difference in Ukraine's warfare. Russia attacks civilian targets absolutely ruthlessly, bombing cities, kindergartens, hospitals, and old people's homes. Ukraine does not do that.
And we attach great importance to keeping it that way. But, a country that can only defend itself against an attacker on its own territory is not defending itself adequately. And this defense of Ukraine is now also taking place against military infrastructure on Russian territory."

The amount of naivety in the West is staggering, when it comes to dealing with Russia. The majority of Russians live their whole life by pushing others. It starts from childhood, permeates in every aspect of their lives and never ends. If you don’t push back, they will push you all eternity.
Pushing back is no escalation, it is necessary. Sanctions are good, but they are not enough, let alone talks. You won’t convince Russians to make peace, you have to make them. Mikhail Khodorkovsky makes this point clear.

Unfortunately, it must be admitted that attacks in Ukraine will not decrease in the near future, but only intensify. Putin already understood for sure that Donald can piss into his ears endlessly. One hope for the American Congress, whose actions do not depend on Trump's mental development.

Trump:
“If Putin didn’t get stuck in the mud with his army tanks all over the place, they would’ve been in Kyiv in 5 hours”
The ground around Kyiv was still frozen on February 24th 2022. The mud conditions only started getting bad around 3 weeks later.
The Russians failed to take Kyiv because of poor planning, underestimating Ukrainian resistance, the skills of Ukrainian soldiers and their resolve in the battles in Hostomel, Bucha, Irpin, Moschun, Makariv, Brovary as well as the refusal by the Ukrainian Army to retreat from the city of Chernihiv.

Let me explain how Putin just conned Trump like the simple moron that he is, and why many innocent Ukrainian civilians will likely die because of it.
Russia moved all air defense systems from around the country to Moscow for the guarding of Putin's May 9th propaganda parade - leaving the majority of Russia unprotected - a huge chance for Ukraine.
Just before these air defense units were moved to Moscow, Putin called for a ceasefire that covered the exact period which Russia would be undefended. Trump praised this ceasefire as a result of his prowess as the great dealmaker, then pressuring Ukraine to observe it.
With May 9th over and Russia's air defenses returning to their positions, tonight, US intelligence warns that Russia is about to massively attack Kyiv.
Trump is a fucking idiot.

President Trump's Special Envoy Keith Kellogg:
"Russia's not winning this war. Russia has not made any major advances in the last year and a half. They haven't taken the city of Kyiv, the capital, they haven't pushed to the west of the Dnipro river (which is the major river obstacle), they haven't taken Odesa.
They've lost hundreds of thousands of soldiers and they haven't really moved anything. It [Russia] moves by meters, not by miles. And the Ukrainians are fighting on their own soil, and they are fighting hard.
So when Russia says they're winning - no, they're not. If they were winning, they would have already won this war... So I think they need to sit back and realize it. I think Ukraine's in a good position. The Europeans really stepped up."
President Trump:
"I don't believe that Vladimir Putin would be doing this for anybody else but me, a lot of people have said it, too. I think he had the idea of going all the way through, I think he's willing to make a deal. And I would say, thus far he's been easier to deal with than Zelenskyy. Thus far."
I wonder whether it has something to do with the different demands towards Russia and Ukraine... Just a thought.
