Really good work here.
Doug Ford’s war on bike lanes isn’t about traffic—it’s part of a global right-wing backlash to vilify urban residents and defend fossil fuel interests. @DesmondCole reports from the frontlines of the showdown in Toronto.

@McDonaldsCanda Hi McDonalds. Why did you remove the bike rack at McDonald's Meadowvale Town Center (store #40098)? This rack was convenient and very popular. Are you planning to replace it? @MissCyclingNow @nataliehhhh @Reid4Ward9

Quite disappointing because it easily the best Mcdonalds in town. Great playplace and overall atmosphere (couch). Closest bicycle parking is now more than 150m away, can only accomodate two bicycles and require to cross the entire parking lot.

Traffic calming opponents either don't understand how street design saves lives, or they don't care. Either way, never put a safety project up for Yes/No vote. Too many people are willing to let others suffer so they might save a few seconds while driving.

I taught myself Blender and spent the last 6 months modelling what Mississauga is going to look like. Towers, transit, the whole downtown. It’s live and you can click around it: futuremississauga.ca 🧵

The City of Mississauga launched its first-ever Parking Enforcement Bike Unit. The Bike Unit will allow Parking Enforcement Officers to move easily through and patrol parks, waterfront areas, the downtown core, neighbourhood business districts and major community events, keeping the city's streets safer and more accessible for everyone. Have you ever rode to a store, only to realize there’s nowhere to lock it up? Yeah. We’re fixing that. From suburban plazas, to apartment buildings, every ride deserves a safe place to end. We are the Bike Parking Alliance of Toronto (BPAT), and we’re just getting started.

We’re seeing exactly what many expected. With Automated Speed Enforcement in place, driver compliance reached as high as 87%. Today, that number has dropped to 41%. That’s a significant decline, and a clear setback when it comes to road safety in our communities. As we move forward with our traffic safety plan, we will need to identify and implement alternative measures that ensure drivers slow down and residents feel safe on their streets. This is not the direction we want to be heading, but the data is clear and it reinforces the need to act. Link to PWIC upcoming agenda. 🔗 pub-ottawa.escribemeetings.c… 🔗 pub-ottawa.escribemeetings.c…
