It’s impossible to invest hope into this blue wave. Dems very clearly want it to be played off as people finally placing power into their own hands; so that when it’s inevitably revealed that’s not true (like in 2024) there’s renewed capitulating into right wing extremism.

At best it’s naive to believe that the Biden era wasn’t directly staging the current state of affairs and, assuming Dems have kept their playbook (what am I kidding they’re Libs), this isn’t staging something worse. But it’s okay because they’re conditionally nice to minorities!
