Get this: The Wall Street Journal is highlighting how companies are now writing financial reports specifically to trick AI. Wild, right?
The worst-performing firms are pumping up their reports with words like "growth" and "resilient" while their numbers are tanking. They're dressing up bad news because they know a basic "summarize this" prompt won't spot the lie.
This is a huge trap. It proves you can't just treat your AI like a big red button and trust the output. You have to be the manager.
So instead of asking it to "summarize," you give it a better job. Ask it this: "Analyze this for sentiment inflation. Flag any discrepancies between positive language and the actual financial data."
That's the shift. That’s the AI Mindset.

Last year, on a solidarity trip to Israel, I met with Mayor Davidi of Sderot. Just miles from the Gaza border, his town and region were devastated on October 7th. His senior advisor, Amit Kochavi, asked if I’d connect their local college, Sapir, with Clemson. They wanted to strengthen the US-Israel partnership and help rebuild the Western Negev – one of the most productive agricultural areas in the world.
This past week, Clemson University, Sapir College, and Hebrew University made that partnership a reality. At a time when antisemitism is rampant on college campuses, Clemson is taking a different path. This partnership focuses on the latest technology and research to bring three schools and two countries together to benefit the people of the U.S and Israel.
