One candidate has 15,000 units of city-led and supported housing under construction. As an ER doctor I can't emphasize enough how housing is the most powerful medicine.

One candidate reduced police response times from 26 minutes to 12 minutes. One candidate reduced 911 operator delay from up to 12 minutes to 3 seconds.

Transit advocacy group @ttcriders did an extensive survey of Toronto election candidates, asking if they would commit to 18 priorities. Chow committed to all of them. Bradford didn't respond.

I keep saying it: Doug Ford has about 15 scandals that, on their own would’ve brought down any other government. And yet, no updates on any of these investigations. When is the Ford government gonna be held accountable for literally anything?
Ontario somehow manages a billion-dollar scandal every year now that would have sunk a government had it happened a decade ago, and yet no investigation has reported back and you can bet no one will end up in jail.
A billion dollars defrauded from OSAP and the only punishment will be inflicted on those who didn’t do anything wrong.
Every bad actor will take it as a sign that they can continue abusing the systems that they are.
In the past these scandals (Greenbelt, Skills Development Fund, now OSAP) would be the top news story until there was some accountability.
Now? Nothing.
Makes me so angry!

Worse, Brad will even open the door to privatizing our drinking water.
But you can stop him — by voting for Olivia Chow.
She stands up for people, and she’s building a more caring, affordable and safer city.
We can’t let them take us backwards.
Vote Olivia Chow – #9 on ballot

The end of municipal democracy in Ontario.
Ford appoints his cronie as Chair of Muskoka Region.
Ford has stripped the people of Muskoka, Peel, York, Halton, Niagara, Durham, Waterloo, and Simcoe County of the right to elect a Regional Council Chair in next week's election.
Instead, he will appoint the Chairs—who will be able to force through decisions even if 2/3rds of elected Councillors vote against them.

NEW: The Ford government is expected to name Conservative MP Scott Aitchison as Muskoka’s first “strong chair,” @readpolicorner has learned.
Aitchison announced late last month that he would leave federal politics to “explore new opportunities.”

I've worked with both Olivia Chow and Brad Bradford. Mayor Chow acts. Councillor Bradford is mostly talk.
How can we expect someone to serve our city well when they've failed to serve their own ward?
Louise Hidinger, Ph.D. retweeted
1/ That's right.
Bradford refused to meet with tenants & advocates from @TorontoAcorn who asked for a formal meeting to discuss remedial action @ 500 Dawes
ACORN opted to reach out to Oliva Chow after months of trying to set up a meeting w/ his office

Every year, Olivia Chow has done a line-by-line review to find savings.
Brad Bradford has been clear: he wants to repeat what happened in 2011. Putting big cuts to libraries, affordable housing and other public services on the table.
We can't risk going backwards.

Every time I say “housing is a human right,” someone screams, “I don't want my taxes paying for someone else's housing!”
I hate to break it to you, but your taxes are already paying for homelessness.
Emergency shelters, hospitals, policing, courts, jails, and crisis services.
We're spending billions managing the consequences of people having nowhere to live.
So here's my question:
If you're so concerned about your tax dollars, why are you more comfortable paying to manage homelessness than investing in ending it?
Refusing to fund housing doesn't mean you stop paying, it means you keep paying for the crisis.
You can't call yourself fiscally responsible while ignoring the cost of doing nothing.

Toronto’s water belongs to the people of Toronto.
New polling shows 60% of Torontonians are concerned about the potential privatization of Toronto Water.
Our members work around the clock to deliver safe, clean drinking water to our city. That responsibility should never be put at risk.
Public water. Public accountability. Public trust.
Toronto’s water is not for sale. 💧

People need to get really angry about this! Contact mPP, school boards, premier, minister of education! Make some noise!
🚨 BREAKING 🚨
It looks like Ford is planning a major sell-off of schools.
Through the TDSB, Toronto taxpayers own 612 properties worth $20 billion.
Ford changed the rules so his Minister of Education could sell any school to anyone he wants.
Ford's TDSB supervisor met twice as often with the TDSB's property management arm as with parents.

Some of us have been saying it's always been about the real estate.
NEW: In his first year running Ontario's largest school board, the Ford government's TDSB supervisor logged more than twice as many meetings with the board's $20B real estate arm than he did with parent groups, calendar entries reveal.
The FOI records offer a rare glimpse into the supervisor’s day-to-day work, raising concerns that parents have taken a back seat under provincial supervision. Story: thetrillium.ca/news/educatio…

Do you know how a minority lunatic wins elections? Everybody assumes the lunatic will lose and stays home. Don't forget that every single voter who wants separation is going to vote. That is what the rest are up against. GET OUT AND VOTE. Ontario didn't and they got Ford.

Bradford creates an ideological privatization answer to a water problem that doesn't exist. England's disastrous privatization efforts should be our warning. The world is upside down when a Conservative like Bradford wants to put us in debt. Bad idea.

Ford wants to sell properties owned by schoolboards to his cronies. These properties are high value and strategically placed to serve communities. That's why he takes over schoolboards. His entire government is about selling publicly held assets to scheisters who write him checks
