I oppose the death penalty, but I didn't always feel that way. I understand the people who support it - because I once was one of them. But either way, the death penalty staged as a public spectacle is an abomination and stains us all.
Hegseth on Nidal Hasan: "He's gonna get a firing squad of soldiers. As it should be. We'll make sure that people are able to watch it. That it's public. Because people need to understand that there's serious consequences for these types of things."

🚨 OBAMA ON AI: "If we are thinking about AI just in terms of how do we cure cancer or get better energy, you can do that without having agentic AI and having it just roaming free in the internet. The reason you are doing that is because you have to market a product that people will pay money for. That’s a misalignment between what our society needs and the commercial imperatives that these companies are facing, not because necessarily they’re trying to do bad things, but because they’ve got to justify these valuations. So, that’s one more reason why it is really important for us to have a competent government and a serious bipartisan conversation around this issue, and we have to do it fast. And I would encourage voters to pay attention to this. If somebody does not have a serious plan for how to deal with this, then they’re not meeting the moment, and you should probably look for somebody else."

Who won the US-Iran War? Von Clausewitz says: “War is thus an act of force to compel the enemy to do our will.” America has not done that. - Iran has met all of its strategic objectives. They have proven their ability to impose their will as they see fit. - They have endured every weapon the USA threw at it. There is nothing we can do to stop their leadership or forces operationally of whatever they wish. - Iran now determines how & if 20% of the world's energy and fertilizer flows freely. - Trump surrendered to this realty and is trying to pay them off. - All Washington can do is threaten and watch them exercise regional dominance. Their people could go years like this. We cannot go a couple of months. Dress that ugly pig up in fantasies of what we supposedly achieved but results show we lost this war.

For all those getting ridiculously upset by movie casting. Neither Achilles nor Helen of Troy is a main character in The Odyssey. This isn't The Iliad.

Republicans gut healthcare for the middle class, again. News at 11.
Without subsidies, millions of middle-income Americans on the marketplace with over $60,000 in income will be unable to afford health insurance. These Americans make too much for Medicaid but lack access to employer-based insurance. My @Morning_Joe Chart.

When Trump pulled out of the international nuclear agreement with Tehran in 2018, Iran lacked even a single bomb's worth of uranium. Since then, it accumulated 22,000 pounds of enriched uranium. @BlackiLi @WilliamJBroad nytimes.com/interactive/2026…

The average American household spends approximately $201 per month ($2,411 annually) on auto fuel. At $4/gallon it is up 25% or $602.75 Gas alone, not to mention food costs, wipes out the tax refund *Make America Great*....you idiots

This is absolutely true. Compare the US approach to Russia in Ukraine vs its approach to Iran and the incentive to have nuclear weapons becomes clear.

One item about the Strait of Hormuz that isn’t being talked about enough is its geography. It isn’t just narrow, it has sheer rock faces and high elevations, rising quickly. Ideal ambush terrain. Limits sensor depth and complicates targeting from the water. Vulnerability is high.

Nothing humbles you like telling your OpenClaw “confirm before acting” and watching it speedrun deleting your inbox. I couldn’t stop it from my phone. I had to RUN to my Mac mini like I was defusing a bomb.

So apparently white Americans in Minneapolis are putting Mexican flags on their cars so ICE agents waste time pulling them over. They call it ICE fishing. 🤣😂
