I love small towns. Especially the people in them. Maybe because I grew up in one & as the daughter of a pastor of a small church where the fishermen would come right to our house from their boats with fresh catches to share with us, they bring back such sweet memories for me.

One caller asked for help finding her brother. Another needed info about evacuation routes. A third worried if a nearby dam was about to burst. And many callers said "I'm just so proud of my neighbors."

'But the culture as a whole hasn't landed on more consistent purposes yet though there are so many purposes waiting to be claimed: healing, repairing, connecting, collaborating, purposes that while hard to pursue provide a deep sense of meaning to people's lives.'

You have to love. You have to feel.
"Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won’t either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up."

If anybody wants to know why Gen X is always mad, it's because we had to replace our record collections with a tape collection that we had to replace with a CD collection that we had to replace with an MP3 collection, and now we need a subscription to listen to music.
The only question that matters. (And if you're the one reading this because you genuinely want help to change your dynamic, probably not talking to you!)
In couples therapy, it's helpful to ask⬇️
Do you want to express yourself, or do you want to understand what's happening *between* you right now?
The 2nd choice requires taking in *new* information.
If you can't take in new information, you'll remain stuck.

Please share. Bayswater/Broadway in #kitsilano #vancouver, saw a dog hit by a car 5pm tonight while walking my dogs. Told the driver to go to Burrard/Broadway emergency but never showed. Midsized brown dog/some spots. If anyone has an update, it would help me sleep tonight.🙏

‘The thinner tree was cut years ago and the big one has been holding and feeding it since then. They "wake up" together in the spring and "go to sleep" together in the autumn’
Inosculation is a natural phenomenon in which parts of two different trees, commonly but not exclusively the same species, grow together, self grafting and sharing nutrients
The term emanates from latin- ōsculārī, to kiss

A woman who's divorced couldn't take it anymore. A man who's divorced still doesn't understand what happened and blames his ex. Prove me wrong.
So yeah the reason we're not 'surrendering' to men anymore - as if that was ever a thing that served us beyond some false level of comfort we bought into - is because we've been shown enough times we're not safe to!

"In a world full of people who seem to know everything, passionately, based on little (often slanted) information... what a relief it is to be in the company of someone confident enough to stay unsure (that is, perpetually curious)." themarginalian.org/2023/04/0…
I will say this, as the fires rage & the seas turn green & river beds flood, I'll give love & dignity to every person, every creature on earth. Every creature deserves dignity & love, no matter how small. We all feel. We all suffer. We all need. Who will love with me to the end?

💯 You will literally save lives by raising your kids like this. PK here - the intergenerational patterns of abuse require cycle breakers.
Your heart will break. It will be the hardest thing you've ever done. But on the other side of fear will be the very best thing that could ever happen to you. Stay with it. Don't keep running from it. There is something so beautiful coming even if you can't see it yet!
One of these days, someone is going to love all those things about you that you always thought you'd have to hide to be loved and you're finally going to see why I keep telling you it's never EVER been about you! ❤️
