Washed out lentil areas giving some weed challenges before harvest. Full profile of moisture + no crop competition. These areas of weeds need to be managed well & the paddock will pay you back next year providing the control is good until cropping next year @CropDoctor54

Vic central mallee - things are moving very fast. Hoping to skip this weekends rain 🌧️ but season could not look better 🌾 🤞

We’re going to need a very high level of detail on header setup with this years crop here. Going to be important to get what we can whilst maintaining efficiencies 😳. 26 is going to be an armwrestle to the end.
A kaleidoscope of colour in the lupin trials at Underbool today.
Part of a @theGRDC and AgVic program looking at protein content and other attributes in pulse grain.

@NASManangOuyen 2026 Field day…cracking crops & a cracking day! @BreedersPlant @agtbreeding @InterGrain1 @StuartOckerby @JasonBrand
Great to be part of the conversations and see all the great work that has been done to get some great lentil crops on the EP…😁
Well done all
Cracker day looking at lentils, acidity, sodicity and crop rotation implications. Not just yield but soil health, nutrition and disease interactions #bigpicture. Well done @ag_eyre team

A bitter pill to swallow when nodulation failure occurs in pulses. This block of fabas was timely sown into moisture in April. pH of 4.7-5 but the rhizobia did not fire potentially due to a shelf life issue. Crop will yield poorly & miss out on legacy N for the next 2-3 years.

Another fantastic Soils Masterclass from @Mel_Fraser1 yesterday upskilling Vic Mallee Millewa farmers on soil constraint diagnosis, soil management and amelioration. Oh and the dreaded acid throttle reared its head again😬 soilhub.com.au/ @MalleeCMA @NASManangOuyen

Still seeing some nice P rate responses from MAP this year at Underbool. Selecting seed from higher P in previous years helps too🤔😁 @DMAg_consultant

Great to see the Underbool area in great shape leading into spring. Lots of soil amelioration paying off to combat soil constraints and solid nutritional programs. Still full profile of moisture & let’s hope it all finishes 🤞 🌱@JasonBrand @aikman_garth @harry_simpson11

Plenty of action this week at the @NASManangOuyen Underbool and Millewa trial sites with our mid season field days. The sites are looking a picture with 30-40 mm across the region. Also great to see @JasonBrand impressive range of pulse agronomy trials at Underbool as well.

The good, the bad and the ugly of growing lentils on a full bucket. Challenge now is not to let the grass in these areas go nuts and set seed. Medic and ryegrass not phased by the wet. Anything green is looking good though!

P rate trials in lentils- higher pH soils an eye opener for biomass response. Yield will have the final say but always good to ground truth 🌱 and follow up N legacy effect @CropDoctor54 @SeanM_DMAg_SA @soilpED @gsandral @JasonBrand
