💥 ⚾ Cover reveal ⚾ 💥 What happens when three luckless dads on the world's worst rec baseball squad secretly band together and investigate after their teammate's wife dies mysteriously? Coming April 2027 from @EmilyBestler @AtriaBooks @simonschuster cover: James Iacobelli

When Dire Straits took the stage at Live Aid in '85, most fans had no idea why Sting joined them, but when he started singing the opening lyrics to "Money For Nothing", they realized it was his voice on the radio hit which widely went unnoticed til then 🔥 Goosebumps when Mark Knopfler finally plays that guitar riff and the crowd takes over for the drums.

Here's one I offer your entire book club for a pick during Spring Training 2027...(link to download below--will require sign in but its legit. Comes out next April but happy to gift to your book club if you make it a pick!) A devoted but struggling dad, along with two of his buddies on a luckless recreational baseball team, band together to solve a potential murder amongst their squad—all while trying to stay out of trouble with their wives and, someday, someday win a game. Batter up! The Bad News Dads are a recreational baseball team in Los Angeles—a luckless one, made up of a bunch of forty-something dads, several of them of the stay-at-home variety. Tired of the constant grind of packing lunches and coordinating school pick-ups, the team’s catcher, Ben, is looking for some action. When a teammate’s wife dies tragically, Ben and his two closest friends decide that something fishy might have happened, and blithely take it upon themselves to solve what they’re sure is a murder. But can they fall down the dark rabbit hole of a murder investigation without destroying their home lives? Without ruining their friendships? And without getting killed themselves? netgalley.com/widget/1132471… Sorry, @DALLASBRADEN209, no pictures!

Eleven days ago at Blue Ridge Animal Rescue in Asheville, North Carolina, a tiny black terrier mix named Wren arrived from a neglect case, Severely underweight Completely shut down. Wouldn't eat.! Wouldn't lift her head. Staff tried everything for five days. Nothing reached her. Then there was Chester. A twelve year-old Great Pyrenees, Surrendered four years ago. Never adopted. Too old, people say. Too big. But shelter directon Mara says quietly: "Chester has settled more broken dogs than anything else we've tried!" Night five, Chester walked across the kennel and lay down beside Wren. By morning she had eaten her first full meal. Chester is still available for adoption. Still showing up fo the ones nobody else can reach.
