Ok, but how are the robots going to feel when they find out ‘robot’ comes from the Czech word ‘robota’ which means “forced labor”??

$MSCI is doing a great job by removing Indonesia from emerging market to "standalone market status" citing concerns over
1. Market transparency
2. Concentrated shareholdings
3. Suspected coordinated trading
4. Weak enforcement
In short, Indonesia is UNINVESTABLE.

Being a Software Engineer in 2026.
2026 is brutal for everyone.
- No salary hikes
- Layoffs everywhere
- Inflation keeps rising
- AI evolving 10x faster
- Fewer job opportunities
- No openings for freshers
- People delaying marriage
- Govt is arresting youngsters
- Real estate is becoming unaffordable
Everyone is just trying to survive at this point.
What a time to be alive.

It's Halloween season again and as a mathematician I'm obliged to post this. I don't make the rules
introducing FindMyWifePhone™️ my latest shortcut squarely placed on the pareto frontier. there is no easier & cheaper way to find your wife's phone.
"honey, do you know where my phone is?"
the fuck I dont!
"can you call me?!"
she keeps her phone on silent.
so i made this shortcut to help.
trigger = i send her a text with !ping in it
action = hey phone sets a timer for 1s
timer always works, we like to keep our phones on silent + dnd and we dont use apple watches. so finding each other's phones used to be a challenge. we both have this set up in reverse, and its worked well.
bonus shortcut = button in home screen widget to send !ping to my wife
(we also have one called !awaken which disables silent, sets volume to max & disables do not disturb in case of emergency)
i love writing. i never let agents write for me. whether it's docs, or tweets, or shitposts, or even prompts (okay maybe that one's harder as agents manage other agents)
there's a simple reason for that: i still strongly believe that writing is thinking. it's a skill i hope to never give up. it's also important to me that whatever i say is always authentic, mistakes and all. my favorite posts are the ones that i just full send without any editing
i suspect it also helps with prompting. being able to clearly express what i want, and knowing the vocabulary i need to be able to direct my agents does seem to make for more effective usage of agents. in the same way that engineers have an advantage when we prompt agents to write code, because we are intimately familiar with the words that make up the discipline
knowing the right word incantations to get an agent to produce a desired goal almost feels like spellcasting. as models get more capable, and that input box looks more and more like a magic box that can output anything, words become the interface between you and the genie
there may come a time when we give up the keyboard in exchange for brain-computer interfaces. but until then, i'm writing every word.

New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control.
In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale.
Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…
