Incredibly difficult conversations, happening more frequently lately.
Yesterday it was pointed out that the victim blaming of myself has spiralled & I have been battling with internalised ableism more than ever.
I need to get this figured out!

Our economy suffers from a serious case of the Inverse Care Law: resources are allocated precisely to where they are least needed.

[abuse]
I see a lot of people expressing shock 1) this happened at all & 2) that it seems increasingly common to see stories like this.
So I want to talk about abuse specifically against disabled people & why it can be virtually impossible for many of us to leave our abusers 🧵

We need a diverse view of #diversity. It is not enough just to look at women in tech or ethnicity we need to reflect society as a whole in our business. #AXSChat

Being a carer is 24/7. The stress alone is incomprehensible. People like us can’t afford to make bad decisions when we are tired and stressed.
Plus we don’t have advisors, several houses, a fawning media & a salary of £81,932.

And just like that the lead story became French quarantine instead of unfair exam fiasco
Joined my first ever @tortoise digital think in & it was brilliant! Can't wait to join in with more now!
So many ideas buzzing around my head, so much research I want to delve in to & so many topics I now want to explore in my thesis.
This is quite exciting!

Why are increasing numbers of asylum-seekers crossing the channel?
Asylum-seekers are more likely to resort to desperate measures to reach the UK when the legal routes to protection – such as resettlement and family reunion – are limited. (1/8)

The social care system is broken. 💔

Waxing lyrical about equality and inclusion means nothing if you then pick and choose which minority groups you are ally yourself with. That's not the way it works. Nor does one minority group have more importance than another. It's that straightforward 👍
I couldn't agree more @DwayneFields is an exceptional ambassador for @UKScouting and so is @Ed_Stafford.
You are both absolutely incredible role models for not only our young members, but all of our members!
Go check this out!

I’m sure this report is well researched but I’d be wary of misinterpreting the finding social care cuts haven’t hit working age ppl as much as the elderly. We know huge numbers of disabled people are enduring horrific care - and they’re already forgotten. theguardian.com/society/2020…

Great write up: theundefeated.com/features/i…
I've been averaging about 1 sentence per hour on my piece about US decline in relation to soft power & foreign policy (turned into a critical assessment of why Trump is a prat!). It's Saturday, I'm so hot that I'm writing in my underwear, yes it's time for wine to get me through!
Excrutiating breakthrough pain in the middle of the night.
It didn't wake me up initially, but instead resulted in horrifically graphic nightmares of someone operating on my spine and legs, with each strike of the pain.
Today I am a majorly cranky cow, who can barely move!
