MORE liberal trans violence. "I think republicans should be shot in the streets." Is this classified as a hate crime or does that label only get attached to straight white Christian conservative men?

In Loving Memory of Sir Patrick Stewart ❤️🐾🖖 July 13, 1940 to October 28, 2026 Some actors entertain us. Others leave an impression that lasts a lifetime. Sir Patrick Stewart was one of those extraordinary individuals whose talent, dignity, and compassion reached far beyond the stage and screen. From the commanding bridge of the USS Enterprise as Captain Jean-Luc Picard to his unforgettable portrayal of Professor Charles Xavier in X-Men, Patrick Stewart brought to life characters who represented wisdom, courage, compassion, and the belief that humanity could always strive to be better. But long before Hollywood made him a household name, he was a young boy growing up in Yorkshire, England, who discovered a passion for Shakespeare. That passion would carry him to the Royal Shakespeare Company, Broadway, Hollywood, and eventually a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2010. His extraordinary career spanned more than six decades, earning him worldwide admiration and a place among the most respected actors of his generation. His unmistakable voice, commanding presence, and remarkable ability to bring humanity to every role made him truly unforgettable. Yet behind the awards, the fame, and those legendary performances was something equally remarkable. A man with an enormous heart for those who couldn't always defend themselves. Sir Patrick was a passionate advocate for animal rescue, particularly pit bulls. Alongside his wife, Sunny Ozell, he opened his home to foster dogs, including a beautiful pit bull named Ginger. He used his fame to challenge the unfair stereotypes surrounding these often misunderstood dogs and to speak out against animal cruelty and dogfighting. His dedication earned him the ASPCA's Pit Bull Advocate & Protector Award in 2021. His love for the breed even found its way into Star Trek: Picard, where Captain Picard had a pit bull companion named Number One. He understood something that every animal deserves to have recognized. Their worth should never be determined by their breed, their appearance, or the misconceptions of others, but by the love, loyalty, and companionship they have to offer. His compassion extended far beyond animal rescue. Having witnessed domestic violence during his childhood, Sir Patrick spoke openly about those painful experiences and became an advocate for women and families affected by abuse. Rather than allowing those memories to remain hidden, he used his voice to raise awareness, encourage compassion, and stand beside those who needed someone to speak for them. He understood that true strength wasn't measured by fame, fortune, or power. It was measured by the willingness to stand up for others. On October 28, 2026, Sir Patrick Stewart passed away at the age of 86, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that reaches far beyond Hollywood. The world has lost a legendary actor. Star Trek has lost its beloved captain. The theater has lost one of its finest performers. And the animal rescue community has lost a compassionate friend and advocate. But extraordinary people leave behind more than memories. They leave behind inspiration, kindness, and reminders that one person can make a difference in the lives of others, whether those lives walk on two legs or four. Sir Patrick Stewart gave generations of fans unforgettable characters who taught us about honor, courage, friendship, leadership, and humanity. And through his own actions, he showed the world that those qualities weren't simply words written into a script. They were values worth living by. His performances will continue to inspire generations. His advocacy will continue to remind us that compassion knows no boundaries. And his kindness toward animals, especially those so often misunderstood, will remain a beautiful part of his enduring legacy. Rest peacefully, Sir Patrick Stewart. Thank you for the decades of extraordinary performances, the wisdom, the laughter, the compassion, and especially for using your voice to protect those who had no voice of their own. The stars will always remind us of the captain who taught us to explore beyond the limits of what we knew, to lead with wisdom, and to never lose sight of our humanity. Your final mission is complete, Captain. The bridge may be quiet, but your legacy will forever shine among the stars. ❤️🐾🖖

Officer walks onto private property to check out a burn pile and ends up shooting the family dog, Woodrow. Family: "Why did he shoot Woodrow?" "It's private property." Officer: "He was coming after me, ma'am." Then a second dog charges at him on camera. Justified self-defense, or should he never have been in that yard?

A Texas woman reportedly decided to divorce her husband after discovering he'd been using ChatGPT to win arguments with her for nearly three years. She first became suspicious when her husband, who normally couldn't remember what they'd argued about five minutes earlier, suddenly started giving thoughtful responses, admitting when he was wrong, and apologizing without being asked. At first, she thought their marriage was finally improving. Then one evening, during an argument about household chores, he excused himself to use the bathroom. When he didn't come back for nearly twenty minutes, she went looking for him and found him sitting on the toilet asking ChatGPT how to respond to a wife who says her husband never listens. After confronting him, she discovered he'd been taking screenshots of their text arguments, uploading them to ChatGPT, and asking it to help him prove he was right. He'd even been asking it to write his apologies. Apparently, the final straw was discovering that the heartfelt anniversary message he'd written her was also generated by AI. When asked why he'd been doing it, he explained that he was just trying to communicate better and avoid unnecessary arguments. She told him she wanted a divorce. He reportedly asked ChatGPT what he should say next. Would you consider that cheating, or is the guy just using the tools available to him? 😂

The biggest cheer of the night wasn’t for a home run. It was for a hot dog! At a Kansas City sporting event, the challenge was simple: get a giant inflatable hot dog into an inflatable bun, and everyone gets a free hot dog. Forget the scoreboard. Suddenly, everybody’s rooting for a hot dog!

At 65 Michael J. Fox shared a wish after living with Parkinson’s disease for 35 years. “I’d like to just not wake up one day. That’d be really cool. I don’t want it to be dramatic.” He wasn’t saying he wanted to give up on life. He was talking about the kind of ending he hoped for. Falls have already taken a serious toll on his body. He has broken his elbow, hand, arms, shoulder and cheekbone. One injury required a plate in his face. These weren’t accidents from movie stunts. They were ordinary moments that became risky because his body no longer always did what he wanted it to do. Fox was only 29 in 1991, newly married to actress Tracy Pollan, when doctors diagnosed him with early-onset Parkinson’s. For seven years he kept his diagnosis private. In 1998 he finally told the public. Tracy had married him in 1988. Together they built a family that eventually included their son Sam, twins Aquinnah and Schuyler, and their youngest daughter Esmé. In 2018 Fox underwent surgery to remove a benign tumor from his spine. The operation affected his ability to walk. More falls followed. His 2023 documentary *Still* showed viewers the bruises on his face. Even his beloved guitar became a reminder of what Parkinson’s had taken from him. Yet not every memory was filled with pain. In one moment he recalled standing with Tracy at a Vampire Weekend concert. As the band played “Harmony Hall,” Tracy danced beside him. Looking back he said, “I mean, there’s still a lot of people I love and a lot of people who love me, so where am I going?” During another conversation in 2023 he explained, “And if you can find something to be grateful for, then you can find something to look forward to, and you carry on.” While discussing death and the possibility of a peaceful ending, Fox was also promoting his book *Future Boy* and preparing to return to television through *Shrinking*. For now Michael J. Fox is still here, still surrounded by people he loves, and still making plans for tomorrow.

Nothing worse than having a neighbor from hell. You can ignore them, avoid them, even try to make peace. But when you live next door, there’s no escaping the drama. Your home is supposed to be your peace, not a lifelong headache.

What a heartbreaking week for the Star Trek family. ❤️ Just three days after losing Walter Koenig, the beloved Pavel Chekov from the original Star Trek, we're saying goodbye to another legendary member of the Enterprise family. Sir Patrick Stewart, who gave us Captain Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation, has died at 86. For millions of us, he wasn't simply the captain of the Enterprise. He was the voice of wisdom, dignity, and humanity on the bridge. And what a remarkable career he had. Long before he commanded a starship, Stewart spent years performing Shakespeare with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Later, he introduced himself to another generation as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men films. But there was something special about Picard. He didn't need to raise his voice to command a room. He could make a speech about doing the right thing feel as thrilling as any space battle. Two different eras of Star Trek. Two actors who helped make the Enterprise feel like home. Thank you, Walter. Thank you, Patrick. You gave us so much more than television. ❤️

It was Christmas Eve in 1933 in Willoughby, Ohio, a small city just off Lake Erie. It would have been a blustery night to be wandering the streets, but a young woman in bright blue—her dress, coat, scarf, hat, and purse all blue—was out walking when she was struck by a New York Central passenger train. She had nothing in her purse but ninety cents and a ticket to Corry, Pennsylvania. "The Girl in Blue," as she came to be known, had arrived in Willoughby as mysteriously as she left. She had been staying for a couple of days at a local boarding house but revealed almost nothing about herself. Reports at the time say that she spoke to a couple of people while out walking that December night, then she seemed to simply step in front of the speeding train. The townspeople embarked on a search for the name of the woman, but no one was able to identify her or locate any next of kin. A resident donated a burial plot in the Village Cemetery and she was laid to rest. A collection was taken up for a plain headstone, which was inscribed:  In memory of the Girl in Blue / Killed by Train / December 24, 1933 / Unknown but not forgotten The Girl in Blue was Josephine (she went by “Sophie”) Klimczak. It was a combination of a news story and renewed interest in the mystery, coupled with some digging into tax and property records in Warren County, PA (that ticket to Corry was key) that sealed a pretty strong case. Although the official death record still only cites her as the Girl in Blue, her identity has been unanimously embraced in town, a kind of rebirth in her demise. In 2002 a local monument retailer donated a footstone, to finally give her a name.

Most wild elephants do not see 70, and the reason is dental. The sixth and last set of molars wears out in the late 60s and the animal can no longer process enough food. A handful of elephants, nearly all of them in human care, have gone considerably further. Lin Wang reached a verified 86. Lin Wang was an Asian elephant who lived at the Taipei Zoo from 1954 until his death in February 2003 at the age of 86. He is the benchmark case because his life was documented from the point he entered Chinese military service: he had been taken from Japanese forces in Burma during the Second World War, hauled supplies for the Chinese Expeditionary Force, and was shipped to Taiwan in 1947 before being handed to the zoo. He was a national figure in Taiwan. His birthday was a public event for years and his death was front page news. When Kerala’s Travancore Devaswom Board later applied to Guinness World Records on behalf of its own elderly elephant, it was Lin Wang’s record they were applying to beat. He served with the Chinese Expeditionary Force during the war, where he was initially captured by the Japanese army and later rescued by Chinese forces in 1943. Lin Wang was used to transport supplies and artillery, showcasing the valuable role elephants played in military logistics. After the war, Lin Wang was transferred to the Taipei Zoo in 1954, where he became a beloved attraction. Known affectionately as "Grandpa Lin Wang," he captured the hearts of many visitors, becoming an iconic figure in Taiwan. His birthday celebrations drew large crowds, and he was honored posthumously as an honorary citizen of Taipei. Lin Wang lived significantly longer than the average life expectancy of Asian elephants, which is around 60 years. In early 2003, he suffered from arthritis and other complications, leading to his death. His passing was widely mourned, and he is remembered as a symbol of resilience and the bond between humans and animals.

You can vote your way into socialism. It's almost impossible to vote your way out. California is starting to feel a little Brazilian. Minutes before the polls closed in Brazil, Justice Cristiano Zanin extended voting by two hours. Both campaigns pushed for more time. But the man who made the call used to be Lula's lawyer, and Lula is the one who appointed him to the Supreme Court. Yesterday, a federal judge refused to make California set aside any ballots from 20,000 people the feds flagged as likely noncitizens. Once those ballots leave their envelopes, good luck pulling an ineligible one back out. If Becerra wins next week and California ends up with a mileage tax, it's time to learn the samba and start eating Brazilian barbecue.
