Fundamentally, a member of Congress should never call someone giving testimony a dirtbag— under any circumstances.
This is how Trump‘s culture of personal attacks have been normalized; by Republicans adopting and repeating the same juvenile name-calling.

Been out of the campaign biz for awhile but this one writes itself:
The government is spending $20 million of tax dollars on what are plainly campaign ads boosting @POTUS before the Midterms, while they cut funding for Medicaid, food assistance, education and more.
Easy pickings.

Two years ago the reflecting pool was reflecting, the East Wing existed and was welcoming visitors to the People’s House, and the Kennedy Center was financially stable and artistically thriving. Gasoline was semi-affordable and USAID was saving human lives all over the world.
Go vote. We don’t have to live like this.

Inflation numbers came out today, and the official story is that inflation went down. What the headline number doesn't tell you is that the government changed how inflation is calculated in the same release. A month ago, they said July inflation was 3.7%. Today, they recalculated July with the new formula and it dropped to 3.36%. If you measure August the same way as the months before it, inflation comes out around 3.8%, which means it went up. They didn't bring inflation down, they just changed how they calculate it.
Bessent did something similar with CPI last month. You only modify the way you calculate if they numbers are that bad. They genuinely thought we wouldn't notice...

This is a perfect metaphor for Trump’s Presidency.
1. Overpromise.
2. Pre-celebrate without results.
3. Fail, blame others.
4. Pretend it never happened.

Forget about Jared Kushner's ties to the President for a second.
When did it become acceptable for someone with ZERO diplomatic experience to lead negotiations between the United States, our allies, and our adversaries?
That alone is insane. We have professionals who have spent their entire lives training to do this job, and they are good at it. Why would we sideline them and put someone with no experience?
Now add the fact that this person, with no experience, has personal business interests and real estate opportunities tied to countries involved in those negotiations.
Then add the fact that he's the President's son-in-law.
None of this is normal. None of this is ok. And none of it should be happening.

Put this ish on blast! No matter how much Republicans BS and bully Jack Smith in this hearing they can't escape this truth and their complicity in perpetuating a lie.
Jack Smith: "Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in serious crimes against our nation ... rather than accept his defeat in the 2020 presidential election, President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results and prevent the lawful transfer of power"

The reflecting pool is empty and blocked off. The Kennedy Center is completely boarded up. The East Wing is in ruins, and the White House looks like a tacky, cheap Vegas whorehouse with all the fake gold laminate. The visual decay in D.C. says everything you need to know about the current state of our country.

So how much of this is genuine and how much of this is an attempt to regain credibility from the slew of folks who knew better and now he wants back “in” (however he defines it) and needs these folks to take him seriously again?

There is no precedent for the federal government taking an incumbent president’s actual campaign material, purchasing national TV airtime for it during a campaign, and putting “Paid for by the U.S. Government” at the end.
It’s wrong. It’s theft. It’s un-American.
The U.S. Government is up on TV with this spot --
It aired nationally on FOX yesterday during Illinois at #7 Ohio State and also during Fox News Sunday this morning

If you don’t know this joke, Trump thinks it cool to refuse to put Biden’s photo up, and instead hang a picture of an auto pen. It’s unfunny 3rd grade humor and every foreign leader who sees it knows they are dealing with an unserious old man and a nation to avoid dealing with.

Here is Trump in 2011 calling Obama “stupid” for hosting the Chinese president and claiming that he wouldn’t give him a dinner.
“The president of China came a few months ago and we gave him a state dinner. Now, when people are screwing you, you don't give them state dinners.”
Fast-forward 15 years and Trump is giving President Xi a state dinner while China is helping Iran target American service members.
Who is the stupid one now?

If Joe Biden had rolled out a red carpet and ordered a military flyover for the communist dictator of an adversary helping another adversary target and kill OUR troops, Republicans would have LOST THEIR GODDAMN MINDS, but Donald Trump does it, and they cheer.
What the fuck?

In the past week Trump has banned free press, launched state-run media, attacked the international criminal court, and literally rolled out the red carpet for a communist.
Trump is the communist.

After initially claiming it was 16K, DHS sent Nevada a list of 185 people it claimed were noncitizens illegally registered to vote, and every single one of them turned out to be a US citizen. DHS certainly isn't too concerned about disenfranchising Americans.
