Musicians are expected to survive without protections or a safety net. We “do it because we love it” while being paid poverty wages, exhausting ourselves on tour, and not qualifying for basic needs like healthcare. This takes a huge toll on musicians’ mental health & wellbeing.

I think about this at least once a day. Along with how shorter quarantine times were dictated by airlines that lobbied the government out of fear they’d lose money instead of being based on sound medical or scientific basis.

Ultimately these women don't think they're voting against their interests because they don't have any. They outsource their opinions to their husbands or their churches/communities run by men. I've watched it happen my whole life, it's why (white) women like me run far from home.
