Congratulations to Carol @MarbinMiller on landing at @TheFloridaTrib as editor-at-large. "I’ll be joining a growing young staff of very talented journalists trying to create something special within a struggling industry," she announced today.
She adds: "It’s a player-coach gig, and my plan is to continue to report stories about Floridians at the margins – children, elders, people with disabilities – who suffer for lack of care or services."

An interesting update from one of my former colleagues. @axios has obtained an internal report of the investigation into Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia.

Bonus question: guess the Arlington diner where it happened?

I suggest to a feminist pornographer, in light of the Cornell 7, that gangbangs might be taboo for good reason.

“Saturday, ex-Fox News staffer, Jennifer Eckhart, was found dead next to a knife in her bathtub. She had taken her own life. There, that’s the sentence that I begrudgingly wrote hoping makes you read more. I hate the fact that ‘ex Fox News staffer’ is her legacy when that place was the worst part of her life.”
This is an important read.

🚨ATTENTION: Please Help Me Find This Father.
This hardworking dad of four just trying to make a living was harassed at his job by a nuisance TikTok influencer.
He was then posted online to be mocked by the public.
America is facing a crisis and people are going to start snapping. People work too hard in this country and deserve better than this. This man's main priority is providing for his family and we want to help him do that.
Too many use the internet for bad, let's use it for good so we can help make his life better.
I want to set up a GiveSendGo for him.
If you can help me get in contact, shoot me a DM.

Trump seems to think he can save a vulnerable Ohio Republican senator's ass by talking about how strong it is
Republicans are getting hammered over the war in Iran, gas prices and data centers. But they're playing along with Trump's ogling of male candidates, which he's described as an election strategy.

Since a few Kyiv Independent readers have asked, I’d like to explain what happened with Caolan Robertson’s video, out of respect for our supporters.
Our team found that a video on Caolan’s @CaolanReports YouTube channel included a fragment of an earlier Kyiv Independent video, used without permission and without a request for permission. It wasn’t just footage. It was an animated map that takes our team a lot of work to produce.
Importantly, Caolan’s video cropped out our logo from the fragment. Instead of crediting our work, it fully removed the attribution to the Kyiv Independent. That isn’t citation or fair use.
Our team member did what is standard when your content is used this way on YouTube: They filed a copyright report. YouTube reviewed the case and removed the video. We follow the same process whenever our work is used without permission, regardless of who the creator is.
Worth noting that a removal like this doesn’t kill the creator’s work: The video can simply be re-uploaded without the copyrighted material.
So I was surprised that Caolan instead chose to publicly attack the journalists whose work he lifted, and to appeal to journalistic solidarity in a case where he didn’t demonstrate any.
Our team has been reporting on the ground in Ukraine since before the full-scale invasion. We’re independent, funded mostly by our readers, and we earn every dime. We’re very proud of our work, from front-line reporting to war crimes investigations. We respect the work of other journalists and expect the same for ours.
I wish Caolan all the best in telling his audience about Ukraine. If he ever wants to use our work, he’s welcome to ask, like anyone else.
We are all on the same side when it comes to this: We want as many voices as possible telling the world about Ukraine. But being on the same side means respecting and crediting each other’s work. Credit matters because the reporting everyone draws on has to come from somewhere.
Thank you.

A massacre in the Dnipro passenger railway station today. A guided Russian drone targeted a crowded platform, killing at least 13 people and injuring many others, as per city officials.
But diesel. But Russia wants peace. But don’t you dare hit their refineries.

From a War Department official:
“Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, who was part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was fired by Secretary Hegseth for severe misconduct. Although Sylvia’s title was director of the Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, known inside the military as the J5, he was NOT a central planner for the Iran War. That is the responsibility of CENTCOM and its commander Admiral Cooper.
Sylvia is the subject of an investigation for leaking classified information about the Iran War, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and more. Due to the Pentagon’s media policy requiring journalists to have escorts in the building, Sylvia began meeting with journalists outside of the Pentagon in order to leak classified information.
Sylvia failed three polygraphs which questioned him about leaking classified information. The investigation into him remains ongoing and has been referred to the Department of Justice for further action. The extent of his leaking became so critical that Secretary Hegseth took immediate action and fired Sylvia in order to protect national security. Urgent action was needed and could not wait another second.”

Amy Acton's stepfather's surviving biological daughter spoke to The Daily Mail when they knocked on her door in Ohio, while sobbing.
She said: She believed Amy's story, because her father raped her sister more than once (the victim in this 1974 indictment); she remembered Amy lived in a tent with Donna and Cledith; it's been terrible for her family to see Vivek's ad run in Ohio; and she heard rumors her father had victimized even more young girls.
NEW: I obtained the full Trumbull County file for Amy Acton's stepfather's 1974 charge which shows that he was indicted for incest involving his 16-year-old biological daughter in 1973. The sheriff was then unable to locate him to serve him a summons in the county and nothing further happened in the case.
Donna Arthur, featured in Vivek Ramaswamy's still-running campaign ad, married Cledith the next year in a neighboring county.
