Last night, we saw what happens when preparation, long-term investment, and year-round organizing meets opportunity. Republicans tried to pick their voters, yet voters sent a resounding message that they will not let disenfranchisement win over democracy. ✊ let’s get to work.
I've got the coolest job in Democratic politics training candidates, professional development for campaign staff, and helping local party folks be stronger organizers. If last night's results inspired you check us out @TrainDems (@mannyfornh is a fellow trainer!)

FLIP: Democratic challenger @LaKeshaWomack has defeated former NC House Speaker @RepTimMooreNC, who drew his own district in NC-14. Absolutely stunning upset.

You amateurs need to stop feeling hopeful. Election Day is not about hope. It's about FEAR. Raw, horrible, cortisol-filled FEAR.
And if we win, there is no joy. Only relief.
You all disgust me.

Monday night and campaign staffers are thinking what they would’ve done differently. Stop worrying. What’s done is done. The only thing you ingrates can do now is blame comms.
I really hope we win by different circumstances than that '48 primary
On this day in 1948, Lyndon B. Johnson won his first termin the U.S. Senate, defeating Republican Jack Porter. He'd clinched the Democratic nomination by just 87 votes in a disputed runoff against former Gov. Coke Stevenson. @TheTexasFlyover

Chris Murphy’s chief says the 53-year-old Democratic senator had a stroke.
“Yesterday afternoon, Senator Murphy started experiencing numbness in his arm while at his son’s hockey game. He was taken to a local hospital, where it was discovered he had experienced a stroke. He was transferred to Johns Hopkins for further monitoring and is responding well to treatment. The doctors are encouraged by his progress, he is awake and alert, and we are optimistic he will make a full recovery.”
