Predators know they canโ€™t attack every woman. They need strategic allies who will do exactly what they want and create doubt around the women they have attacked. It benefits them to be perfect gentlemen to some women.

SANDIE PEGGIE IS APPEALING The Darlington Nursing Union welcomes the news that its member Sandie Peggie is appealing her case against the Royal College of Nursing. Throughout this ordeal, Sandie has demonstrated an enormous amount of courage and determination. It takes immense strength to stand up, challenge decisions and continue fighting for what you believe is right, particularly when the battle involves an organisation that should have been there to represent you. No healthcare professional should ever be abandoned by the very union they have paid to protect them. That is precisely why the Darlington Nursing Union was established: to ensure that healthcare professionals, who believe in biological reality, have a voice, receive proper representation and are never left feeling that they have to fight alone. Trade union membership should mean having someone in your corner when it matters most. It should mean support, solidarity and representation โ€“ not having to question whether your union will stand beside you when things get difficult. Sandie, as you continue your fight, please know that we stand with you. Your case and courage has shown why alternative options for union representation on these issues is urgently needed. Join us #StandWithSandie #DarlingtonNursingUnion #DNU #Nursing #HealthcareProfessionals
The dismissal today of Sandie Peggieโ€™s case against the Royal College of Nursing should concern every healthcare professional who believes in biological reality. Bethany Hutchison, President of the Darlington Nursing Union, said: โ€œSandieโ€™s story shows why healthcare professionals need a union that understands their convictions before a crisis begins. โ€œThe courtโ€™s decision does not erase the fears and lawful beliefs of nurses who believe their union may not represent them robustly when disputes involve biological sex and gender identity. โ€œSandieโ€™s experience shows how vulnerable a nurse can become when trust in union representation breaks down. โ€œGender-critical nurses deserve representation from a union whose starting point is clear: biological sex is real, freedom of belief matters, and lawful single-sex protections must be defended. โ€œThe Darlington Nursing Union exists to provide that representation. We will stand firmly alongside our members, seek early and effective resolutions, and defend them robustly if a dispute escalates. "Our members should never have to question whether their union shares a commitment to defending their lawful rights." Join the Darlington Nursing Union by contacting [email protected]

A new law that risks criminalising parents who question whether their children are trans must be scrapped, MPs, peers and experts have demanded. โ€˜Genderโ€™, as opposed to sex, is an anti-scientific myth. If a child with a penis announces that he is really a girl, parents and teachers have a positive duty to educate him in the scientific truth that he is a boy. Of course no parent should use physical or psychological abuse for any reason. But if anyone should be prosecuted it is those who abuse their duty of care by encouraging children in the anti-scientific delusion that they can choose their own sex. telegraph.co.uk/politics/202โ€ฆ

So in summary: you want all women's single-sex spaces and services taken away to accommodate men who claim their 'gender identity feels different from what [their] body is.' You can't explain what a gender identity is, or explain what it means to 'feel' female, as opposed to being female, but you still think society should reconfigure itself around an unfalsifiable concept that cannot be objectively observed or proven, in spite of the well-evidenced risk to women and girls this poses.

Excellent ๐Ÿงต to which I would only add this: the corporate duty is to take *all* reasonable steps to prevent abusive conversion practices. That's different to a duty just to take reasonable steps. It means every reasonable step. The difference is between a court having to decide>
1/ Clause 5 of the draft conversion bill imposes extensive corporate liability. This is an aspect of the bill not getting a lot of attention, so I'm grateful to Tanya for having me on her show to discuss how draconian and chilling the effect of this law would be on workplaces.

The distinction isn't between 'trans' and 'cis'. It's between men who want to force their way into spaces where women and girls are vulnerable, and those who don't. The former, as any nine-year-old can understand, are far more likely to be a danger to women than the men who accept that women's safety, dignity and privacy means they should stay out of those spaces. The distinction isn't between men who claim to be women and those who don't, it's the difference between men who respect women's boundaries - trans-identified or not - and those who don't. As the old saying goes, 'good men stay out so bad men stand out.'

Iโ€™ve now been sent another complaint about the Oxford University lecturer dubbed โ€˜Boob Manโ€™ - sent to St Hildaโ€™s College in June. This one also appears to have gone unanswered. That brings the total number of complaints Iโ€™ve personally seen to four. There may well be more. Iโ€™m currently arranging permission to share the latest letter, with appropriate redactions to protect identities. But hereโ€™s my question. How many complaints does it take for a university to recognise a potential safeguarding issue - and at least investigate the concerns being raised? 7/ If thatโ€™s the case, Jayne, why is the Bill premised on transgender identity being fixed and immutable? Jayne says the fluidity doesnโ€™t mean we shouldnโ€™t have a clear Bill about things we know cause harm. Thatโ€™s the whole point, Jayne. The Bill is not clear on anything at all./

Women are not going to forget this or pretend things were different. No debate wasn't out of fear. It was fuelled by aggression, arrogance and misogyny.

In answer to your final question, no, it does not. After yesterday's forensic analysis & exposition of the bill's failings and inherent dangers, I for one will know that anyone who votes it through in its current form is either deeply stupid, deeply reckless or deeply wicked.

I want you all to know this. There are 650 MPs in Parliament. Yet the one MP chosen by @UKLabour to Chair the Bill Committee for the controversial, dangerous and dismally bad draft legislation, the Conversion Practices Bill, is Alex Barros-Curtis. Until July 2024, when Alex was given a very safe Labour seat in Cardiff, he was the Head of the Labour Party's Governance and Legal Unit in London. This was a department set up to investigate complaints against members of the Labour Party. Complaints of antisemitism, Islamophobia, abuse, and of course latterly, mostly women holding legally-protected 'Gender Critical' (sex realist) beliefs. Alex oversaw the investigation of hundreds of members who liked or tweeted gender critical or feminist views. I was one of them. He investigated me, as a sitting Labour MP, for 13 months. 13 months to 'investigate' one like of one tweet. I had a great lawyer, one of the names we're all now familiar with, and I had to crowdfund to pay for his (excellent) work. They first tried in 2020. But the screenshots crudely attached to that passive aggressive, threatening-sounding email from LP admin staff were so risible that I replied that it was too ridiculous for me to waste my precious time on. They left it. Years of Starmer bumbling and stuttering through interviews about whether he had spoken to me, whether he supported me, etc followed. My feminist sins continued apace. And then I 'liked' a tweet by my GC comedian friend @Glinner. He had mocked Eddie'Suzy' for comparing his choice to wear traditional women's clothing, fake plastic breasts and nails, to those being persecuted by the Nazis during WWII. I found his sarcasm, as a award-winning comedy writer in the face of such offensive narcissism amusing and so 'liked' it. I found it absurd and obscene that Izzard, an extremely privileged and wealthy man, who openly changed his 'gender' at will, should write himself into history falseley as someone who would have been oppressed due to a circumstance beyond his control. We all know the groups who were tortured, starved and killed... There is obviously more to my story, I will tell it all, it's just one chapter of the years of spiteful abusive and bullying practices meted out to me by the Labour Party managers. Not those who'd achieved office on merit, or even unexpectedly, but those in the club, often having failed to be elected themselves. So Barros-Curtis who we were repeatedly told led 'the many *independent* inquiries into women members and MPs like me, now often stands as a trans-rights activist on the Labour backbenches. He has also been gifted the role of Chair of this Committee and is a huge supporter of this Bill. And I am not a part of the Bill Committee, although plenty of TRA MPs are. Does that sound like the democratic scrutiny of legislation to you?

Listening to the Conversion Practices Committee today has reinforced my concern that the wellbeing of detransitioners is simply not being considered by the Government. It is deeply worrying to hear discussions that appear to overlook the significant impact this Bill could have on detransitioners, our ability to speak openly about our experiences, and the support we need to move forward with our lives. Our lived experiences matter. We must be given the opportunity to have our voices heard, particularly when legislation could directly affect our ability to access appropriate therapy, process our experiences, recover and rebuild our lives. A Bill intended to protect people must not come at the expense of silencing another group who are already too often overlooked. I am therefore calling on the Government to ensure that detransitioners are included in any discussions, consultations or working groups seeking lived experience. Our voices must be heard, our experiences must be acknowledged, and our wellbeing must be taken seriously. @DPUK26 @ABarrosCurtis @oliviabaileymp @DannyBeales @NazShahBfd

In what moral universe, let alone academic environment, does Matt Rattleyโ€™s behaviour not raise a massive red flag? We shouldnโ€™t be surprised though. Back in 2007, Grayson Perry turned up at a kids cancer fundraiser flashing a prosthetic penis. Far from being cancelled, heโ€™s been relentlessly feted by the media ever since. Perry has admitted heโ€™s driven by โ€˜an erotic impulse to humiliateโ€™ himself. So when you see these men behaving like this, know theyโ€™re getting turned on by your discomfort and ask yourself: why is this allowed?

But that raising concerns is not easy. If you feel you have anything relevant to share, my inbox is open. All messages treated in confidence. [email protected]

The electorate arenโ€™t goldfish. Our memories are long enough to recall June 2024, when you declared that trans-identified men with penises should be able to use womenโ€™s public bathrooms. It took a Supreme Court ruling to force you to uphold womenโ€™s rights, and now you pose as our bold champion? Please.
The time for talk has long passed. This government is putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to supporting women and girls. We'll back practical action to confine misogyny to the history books - in public services, workplaces, and online. theguardian.com/society/2026โ€ฆ
