As liberals, we fully agree with the words of Lawrence W. Reed:
"Chief among the elements that define strong character are these: honesty, humility, patience, responsibility, self-discipline, self-reliance, optimism, courage, a long-term focus, and a lust for learning. Who in his right mind would want to live in a world without these things? Dishonest people will lie and cheat and become even bigger liars and cheaters in elected office. People who lack humility become arrogant, condescending, know-it-all central-planner types. Irresponsible citizens blame others for the consequences of their own poor judgment. People who will not discipline themselves invite the intrusive control of others. Those who eschew self-reliance are easily manipulated by those on whom they are dependent. Pessimists dismiss what individuals can accomplish when given the freedom to try. Timid people will allow their rights to be trampled. Myopic citizens will mortgage their future for the sake of a short-term “solution.” Closed-minded, head-in-the-sand types don’t learn from the lessons of history and human action."

Friends,
I've been contacted by the heads of Ukrainian hospitals and state institutions asking for help in obtaining generators.
They are very difficult to source these days, and you know how critical the need for them is in Ukraine.
If anyone knows how we could obtain these generators, or has contacts with suppliers, donors, or organizations that might be able to assist, I would be extremely grateful.
All generators will be officially registered as assets of the receiving institutions, and their proper operation and maintenance will be ensured. All letters and documentation necessary will be provided.

A man in Russia was sentenced to 13 years in prison because Binance decided it would be a good idea to share his donations to Ukraine with the Russian Government.
This is how AML laws are weaponized around the world, and why tools like Tornado Cash are so important.
🇷🇺🇺🇦 Russian Man Sentenced to 13 Years After Binance Shared His Data
Yuri Belenkiy, a Russian IT specialist who had been living in Bulgaria, was sentenced on October 26 to 13 years in detention on terrorism financing charges over cryptocurrency donations linked by prosecutors to Ukrainian fundraising campaigns.
According to documents reviewed by Reuters, Binance supplied Russian investigators in 2025 with records that were used as evidence against him, including his transaction history, personal information and copies of his Russian passport and Bulgarian residence permit.
First Department, a Russian legal aid organisation that obtained the case documents, says the initial allegations covered 6 transfers totalling 742.26 USDT, before records supplied by Binance revealed 9 additional transfers, bringing the total cited in the final charges to 1,680.69 USDT.
Belenkiy denied the charges, and his defence questioned whether the records came from Binance.

🚨BREAKING: All Britons may need ID to use social media, the UK's online safety regulator today announces
“This plan for a government ‘social media ban’ is a national ID system by the back door.
Both the government and Ofcom have admitted that children will get around the ban, which means the real effect will be normalising adults and children alike to hand over their passports just to get online.
Hundreds of thousands of people without ID, who tend to be poorer people, and many more who don’t want to risk handing their passports over to foreign tech companies will be locked out of huge parts of the internet.
The plan will kill anonymity online, whilst the UK’s culture of speech policing is reaching a crisis point. The policy is painfully misguided, an Orwellian assault on free speech and privacy, and will make children no safer at all.
The false illusion that children aren’t on social media will cause the companies to abandon all their child safety measures. The Government could be promoting meaningful safety measures and supporting parental controls that genuinely protect children - instead, they’re demanding government ID from the whole population just for uncensored internet access. It is authoritarian madness.”

¿No será mucho?

Here's Trump making clear that he does not intend to back Bolsonaro's now-deleted claim that he is the "true president-elect of Brazil." When I called around in the US Govt to try to understand why that statement was issued, nobody understood it:
It seems as Flavio Bolsonaro and his allies just deleted that statement in which Flavio declared himself "the true president-elect of Brazil," and then re-posted the letter without that declaration.
I had just spent 30 minutes speaking to everyone I could trying to understand how it made any sense at all to make this claim -- either in general or the way they did it: so impulsively and suddenly, with no groundwork laid for it -- and nobody could make sense of it. So it seems wise that they removed it.

Just earlier, Flavio Bolsonaro reported on arrived in Miami, Florida after losing the election to his opponent in Brazil, President Lula. His passport and documents were restricted and the move comes following reports that the U.S. provided him with a visa.

The panel : “Generating Freedom: Watt It Takes to Go Off-Grid”. Producing your own power, owing nothing to any grid, and runing your node without an electricity bill.
With Duncan Coombe (The Solo Mining Co) @TheSoloMiningCo and Erik Hersman @whiteafrican (Gridless). I’ll be the one coming from the sea.
Because a sailboat is off-grid with no opt-out. Offshore, there’s no socket. Whatever you use, you’ve either produced it or stored it.
On Sato: three 120 W solar panels, lead-acid batteries, and the diesel to move and/or charge. What eats everything: the fridge and the autopilot.
And a lesson learned the hard way: I was sure crossing the Atlantic through the tropics would give me sun to spare. Wrong. Clouds. Lots of clouds.
On land, people think of electricity as a flow: it comes out of the wall, endlessly. On board, you think of it as a stock. Every watt counts. Every watt is a choice.
One exception: the air. That one we take as a flow, in the sails.
See you in Amsterdam. Not coming by boat this time. Next time, promise.

Another Putin ally has fallen in Europe!
After more than a decade of dominating Serbian politics, Aleksandar Vučić has conceded defeat in parliamentary elections to a student-led opposition movement.
This is a major political earthquake in Europe.
Vučić maintained close ties with Putin, refused to impose sanctions on russia over its invasion of Ukraine, and tried to balance relations between Moscow and the West.
But after nearly two years of student-led protests against corruption and authoritarianism, Serbian voters have delivered a stunning rejection of his ruling party.
According to preliminary projections, the opposition is expected to secure 135–140 seats in the 250-seat parliament.
And here is what makes this victory particularly remarkable: It was students who helped bring down a political establishment that had dominated Serbia for more than a decade.
First, Viktor Orbán lost power in Hungary. Now Vučić’s party has lost in Serbia.
Two European leaders who maintained close relationships with Putin have suffered historic electoral defeats in the same year.
Of course, this does not guarantee that Serbia will suddenly become pro-Ukrainian. But it creates an opportunity for a different relationship with Europe and a different approach toward russia.
Putin is losing political allies in Europe. And that is good news for Ukraine.
Congratulations to the people of Serbia!
