As part of Infinite Images @ToledoMuseum, visitors could “make their own” Ringers and hang them on display until the end of the day, when the works were collected. I compiled all of those creations into this video. Thanks @juliaxgulia for developing the concept for the exhibition!

On this National Voter Registration Day 🗳️, here’s a look at Rosa Parks’s 1962 voter registration card from the Rosa Parks Papers here at the Library of Congress. Parks was very passionate about voter registration, and it was a huge part of her work at the NAACP when she lived in Alabama. 🧵

Professors overwhelmed by AI-generated writing are turning to an older tool: oral exams. Advocates say the format can reveal how students think, not just what they can reproduce. Read why some see it as more than an anti-cheating measure. chroni.cl/46WBzeD

The EPA announced it is repealing rules limiting greenhouse gas emissions from coal and gas-fired power plants. The move eliminates requirements that would have forced some power plants to sharply reduce their emissions, including through technologies such as carbon capture and storage. @GeoffRBennett has more.

Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.
Replying to @hilbertspaess
The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.

Concerns about the risks of artificial intelligence, and whether the companies building it are doing enough to keep it safe, have erupted across the tech world. Jacob Coxon, who previously worked at Anthropic and OpenAI, wrote that the industry understands the potential risks but is moving ahead anyway. @GeoffRBennettt discussed more with Amrith Ramkumar of The Wall Street Journal.
