A father watched helplessly as his three young children were trapped underwater inside an overturned car. He had managed to escape the freezing river, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get back inside. Then strangers began rushing down from the road, unaware of just how difficult saving those children was about to become.
It happened in Logan Canyon, Utah. Roger Andersen was driving along a snowy mountain road with his 9-year-old daughter, 4-year-old son, and another 9-year-old girl when his car slid off the road, plunged down an embankment, and flipped into the icy river.
Roger fought his way out, but his children were still inside. He desperately tried opening the doors, screaming for help as freezing water filled the vehicle.
That’s when Chris Willden and his father rushed into the river. Several strangers quickly joined them, but the doors wouldn’t budge. Chris then pulled out his handgun and fired through a submerged window to break the glass.
Working together, the men managed to turn the vehicle enough to reach inside. They freed both girls, but 4-year-old Baylor was still strapped into his car seat.
When they finally pulled him out, he wasn’t breathing. One rescuer couldn’t find a pulse, so another immediately began CPR. Moments later, the little boy started breathing again.
Miraculously, all three children survived. Their father later said he believed angels had been watching over his family that day, and he was deeply grateful to the strangers who risked their lives to save his children.
Some stories deserve to travel just as far as the bad news does. This is one of them.

About two out of three firefighters in America are volunteers.
When the pager goes off, they drop their forks and go. 🚒🇺🇸

A young woman crashed into our town's volunteer fire department's truck while it was responding to an accident on the interstate.
Conditions were clear and dry. Happened around noon. She's alive but had to be airlifted.
A good reminder to stay alert while you're driving...

A walk along the World War One memorial located in Pershing Park in Washington DC. It is 58 feet long and about 10 feet high. There are 38 figures in the monument that depicts the soldier's journey from departure, fighting, and return home. The monument was rendered by Sabin Howard. A very moving place.

Ma fille m’a demandé à changer d’école.
— « Tu y as pensé ? »
