Don’t confuse ethics with politics.
You should show kindness to your immigrant neighbor (ethics).
You should also support policies against immigration (politics).
PCA TE Jeffrey Choi argues Romans 16:1 might refer to an ordained deacon, 1 Timothy 3:11 might describe women officers, and Acts 6 is “not decisive”, then concludes that, since the evidence isn’t settled, the PCA should allow a local option.

“See, what a morning, gloriously bright, with the dawning of hope in Jerusalem; folded the grave-clothes, tomb filled with light, as the angels announce ‘Christ is risen!’”
Why should we sing about folded up grave clothes? To make the comparison between Jesus and Lazarus. Lazarus was raised to the resumption of life. Jesus was raised triumphant over death.
Lazarus came forth from the grave, bound with linen strips and wrapped in a cloth (John 11:44). By contrast, the disciples saw the linen cloths of Jesus folded up in a place by itself (John 20:7). Nothing to unwrap. No one to unbind.
Jesus did not struggle to get free. He did not stumble out of the tomb. He got up on resurrection morning, took off those nasty death pajamas, and folded them neatly in a corner because he had no need for them anymore. Jesus was not simply living again; he was done dying forever.
“Death is dead, love has won, Christ has conquered.”
After marching in the No Kings rally, PCA TE Justin Adour said he’s convinced evangelism requires “disentangling Jesus from MAGA Christianity.”
The deeper issue isn’t politics, it’s total depravity. People reject Christ not over associations, but because of spiritual blindness

We know OPC minister Edmund Clowney was a big influence on Tim Keller.
And sure enough, Clowney in 1995 argued (wrongly) that 1 Timothy 3 allows for female deacons.

A Public Statement of Central Florida Presbytery on the Excommunication of PCA Members by an Independent Church:
Wednesday, April 1, 2026
On December 14, 2025, Saint Andrew’s Chapel (SAC) voted to leave the Presbyterian Church in America and become an independent congregation in accordance with BCO 25-11. Indictments and judicial cases initiated “in the name of the PCA” (BCO 31-4) properly belong to the courts of the PCA. SAC no longer possesses authority within those courts to adjudicate such cases. As an independent church, the governing board of SAC is no longer subject to the oversight of the PCA’s higher courts of appeal and is not authorized to adjudicate indictments issued in the name of the PCA.
On March 12, 2026, the governing board of SAC improperly excommunicated three members (Ruling Elder David Zima, Drs Stephen and Heidi Nichols) in good standing in PCA churches within Central Florida Presbytery (CFP). These individuals resigned their membership from SAC on December 14, 2025, and were subsequently examined and received as members in their respective PCA churches within the CFP. They are members in good standing, admitted to the Lord’s Table, and welcomed into the fellowship of God’s people.
Central Florida Presbytery deems these excommunications improper, disruptive to the peace of the Church, detrimental to those under our pastoral care, and without ecclesiastical effect within the Presbyterian Church in America.
Adopted by the Central Florida Presbytery at its 201st meeting, March 31, 2026.

This is a very good summary of the controversy surrounding the @Ligonier , PCA @RefBibleCollege , St. Andrews Church, and the Excommunication of Stephen Nichols. Thank you, @matt_everhard , for wading into these treacherous waters. We are praying for all involved, especially the Nichols' daughter, the victim in this tangled web. I sure hope and pray that this is not cover-up culture like we are seeing in the #NAR #Bethel controversies lately, but it sure does seem like it. One thing I would say that would help. These things can be known if the daughter is able to, at some point, to make a statement to the police… So in that case, they can be known, that was what the police officer said in the body cam footage that was released by the @reachjulieroys Ros Report. And what do we do when the two Presbyterian institutions seem to be contradicting one another with adjudication that has found Nichols to be guilty and the perpetrator innocent? youtube.com/watch?v=5gkO8i6S…

PCA TE Randy Nabors at the Perimeter Church Race Roundtable discussion:
“I’ve met Christians who are Native Americans, and they hate white people, and they love me. I’ve met Africans who hate colonialists, and they love me.”
This is reckless speech that slanders whole groups.
Replying to @WokePreacherTV
Nabors: "I live with a black woman who is angry at white people...I feel her pain sometimes, and the black people in my life that I have come to love, they're angry and they hurt deeply, and I don't understand how they can love me."

If I were charged with a crime by the local DA, that would be known by all. Why is this not the case in our churches? "Contumacy" does not tell us what the original charges were.
In a sermon, PCA Perimeter Church TE Randy Pope asked white members of the congregation to clap as a gesture of asking forgiveness from minority members for “systemic racism.”
Grieving for the Lord’s sheep who were put through this shame and humiliation. Lord, have mercy.
This incident was documented in Shepherds for Sale by Megan Basham. To date, neither the pastor nor the Session of PCA Perimeter Church has issued a public apology, confession, or statement of repentance.
As a PCA elder, I found this profoundly painful to read:
“‘Just a few minutes before, you were smiling and chatting with the African American next to you. And then, suddenly, you’re being put through this kind of struggle session.’”
—@megbasham
And now the elders of PCA Perimeter Church have decided it’s a great idea for them to plant a new church.
Replying to @megbasham
I describe in my book, Shepherds for Sale, how this played out in one PCA church in Charlotte--Christ's Central.
The church's elders and deacons sent out a letter announcing that they were “commit[ted] to [being] antiracist,” and thus the first week of every month would be dedicated to having the white members “collectively repent of [their] complicity in racism.” And nonwhite members would have access to these “affinity groups" where members with a “common cultural background” could “safely meet to grieve.” In other words, in the name of repenting of racism, Christ Central Church had started racially segregating some of its gatherings.
This program was incredibly divisive and many people eventually left what was once a naturally diverse congregation.
Ince's segregated event at Resurrection Oakland is not a one-off event. It is part of a larger trend that has been brought into the church.
And it's worthy of asking if its a biblical one.

Some follow-up questions:
~It’s been three years since Perimeter Church announced its intent to plant Kindred Hope Church, so why hasn’t a single service been held?
~Where is all the money going when the church isn’t even meeting?
~Why isn’t there a timeline or launch date?
