Sometimes, the greatest battle is not with the people around us but with what is happening inside us. You can have a good heart and still need God to work on your attitude, your thoughts, your reactions and the things you struggle to control.

I love David because he was so brutally honest with God about his feelings. He didn’t pretend to have it all together. He cried, questioned, felt afraid, angry and discouraged, yet he kept bringing it all back to God. That reminds me that I don’t have to hide my feelings from Him either. I can come as I am, pour out my heart, ask the hard questions and still trust Him. God can handle the messy prayers too. 🀍
