Businessmen importing plastics, ceramics, glass, steel products and other energy-intensive goods should start exploring joint manufacturing ventures. If gas supply materialises at competitive prices, local production will become more attractive.
The South-East is finally getting a gas pipeline.
400km, about $100 million, running from the ANOH gas plant in Imo through Owerri, Aba and Onitsha, with extensions to Enugu and Ebonyi. Construction starts in Q1 2027, and first gas is expected in Q2 2028.
Around 150 factories, power plants and agro-processors are already lined up as customers. Right now, many of them truck gas in by road.
But read the funding. The South East Development Commission has committed $3 million. It's targeting $30 million from the region. The rest is still moving towards financial close.
Aba has never lacked hustle. It's lacked cheap energy.
The pipeline is a promise. The money will tell us if it's real.

NASARAWA STATE: SECURITY, EDUCATION, HEALTHCARE AND LIFTING OUR PEOPLE OUT OF POVERTY
Following yesterday’s visit to Kogi State, I proceeded to Akwanga, Nasarawa State, today, 28 October 2026, to continue our series of town hall meetings across Nigeria. These engagements provide an opportunity to interact directly with our people, listen to their concerns, and understand their expectations for a better Nigeria.
In Akwanga, I granted an interview to a local radio station, where we discussed critical national issues, particularly insecurity, the economy, and the urgent need to lift millions of Nigerians out of poverty.
I was subsequently joined by my dear elder brother and the NDC Vice Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, for the town hall meeting.
Participants raised important questions and shared their concerns about insecurity, particularly the challenges women face in accessing their farms; support for persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups; fuel subsidy; corruption; the present government’s excessive borrowing; the deteriorating state of our schools; and other challenges affecting their daily lives.
In my response, I assured the participants that our first priority, upon election, would be to unite the country, decisively tackle corruption, and confront the insecurity ravaging communities across Nigeria.
I also reaffirmed our shared commitment to massive investment in education and healthcare, including the provision of at least one fully functional primary healthcare centre in every political ward across the country. Our goal is to reduce the cost of living, expand opportunities, and lift Nigerians out of poverty.
I sincerely thank all participants, our party members, the organisers, and the good people of Nasarawa State for their warm reception, thoughtful contributions, and active participation.
A New Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK! -PO

“Na Peter Obi we want!”
Marketers at Banex Plaza in Abuja chant in support of NDC presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, during a visit by the APC.
They suspended an Igwe in Nsukka because the Igwe received Peter Obi in his Palace. His certificate of authority was taken away from him. Peter is indeed going m@d in Enugu. Mba is turning into a tyrant in Enugu ever since he joined APC.

“Federal Government is truly trying,” man says.
“I sold my vote and defended the APC in 2023, but I will never make that mistake again in the 2027 election. We are now voting for the right candidate. It seems that after my last interview defending the APC government, everything started working against me. Hardship is everywhere,” man says.
