The healthcare debate is terrible because the proper response to this guy is that that’s how things go. There is an incredible scarcity of skilled cancer doctors. Cancer medicines are incredibly hard to produce and we have to figure out how to distribute them to a large population of people who need them. That’s just how it is. That’s the game of it. We can do things to make this distribution more efficient and effective but it is very simple: your wife is sick in a way that is unimaginably complex and it is very difficult to mobilize the resources to care for her.
