Actually it’s 13 years conviction to run concurrently even tho it has been proven beyond doubt that case was false & trial was a sham trial without any due process. Seems only @CMShehbaz’s daughter & her hubby can get freed even tho they were absconders in corruption cases. For imaan & Hadi it’s all abt vengeance never abt justice or even due process.
🚨🚨#BREAKING: In a highly controversial and sham trial anti terrorism court sentences 10 years imprisonment each to #Pakistan’s most devoted and prominent human rights defenders @ImaanZHazir and @AdvHadiali. Pakistani state continue punishing the globally recognised couple for their human rights work and domestically loved by all marginalised segments of the society for representing them probono.

Clarification Regarding Reports on the Closure of Iranian Borders to Pakistan With regard to reports concerning the closure of Iranian borders to Pakistan, I would like to clarify a few important points here: First, there are currently no restrictions on the Iranian side on the export of Iranian goods to Pakistan, including LPG. Iran's borders with all its neighboring countries remain open. Naturally and rationally, under the prevailing circumstances, it would be neither logical nor in the interests of either side for Iran to close its borders to its immediate neighbors, particularly brotherly Pakistan. Second, changes in the implementation of Pakistan's E-Form procedure for imports from Iran have created a situation in which traders are effectively and literally unable to dispatch cargo from Iran to Pakistan. Consultations with the Pakistani side are currently underway to address this issue. Third, according to reports, several hundred trucks carrying LPG have crossed the Rimdan border into Gabd on the Pakistani side. However, despite having remained there for several weeks, these trucks have yet to be unloaded or cleared, further complicating the movement of goods and the smooth flow of bilateral trade. Finally, I would like to emphasize that cross-border trade between Iran and Pakistan is an integral part of the bilateral agreements reached at the highest levels. It serves the mutual interests of both countries and their people. Iran has made every possible effort, leaving no stone unturned, to facilitate and promote this essential bilateral trade. We remain committed to continuing these efforts in close coordination with our Pakistani counterparts to overcome existing challenges, facilitate the movement of goods, and strengthen economic cooperation between our two brotherly countries.

Iran's strategy can now be summed up in three words: enough is enough. For three decades, Iran has been hounded over a civilian enrichment programme it once submitted to the most intrusive inspection regime ever negotiated. Governments that tremble before their own voters at every rise in petrol prices set out, coldly and methodically, to wreck the economy of a nation of ninety million, to push its young people into despair and bury their dreams. Then they gloated. America's Treasury Secretary vowed to "Make Iran Broke Again." He told the Senate, with unconcealed pride, "We created a dollar shortage in the country," and paraded the rial's fall from 800,000 to 2.4 million to the dollar like a hunting trophy. Few governments have ever turned the deliberate impoverishment of a civilian population into a slide in a briefing deck. The economy was only one front. They cut Iran out of the world's banking system, choked its access to medicine and seized its assets abroad. They loosed Stuxnet on its centrifuges. From London and Washington, they beamed psychological warfare into Iranian living rooms through Persian-language satellite channels, hoping to turn a nation against itself. They vilified it in every forum, then asked why it would not trust them. They gunned down its nuclear scientists in the streets of Tehran and assassinated its war hero at Baghdad airport. Three times in little more than a year, they left the negotiating table for the bomb bay. They killed its commanders and its leaders. And they killed its children: the schoolgirls of Minab, the families in the sports hall at Lamerd, just as in 1988 they killed sixty-six children aboard Iran Air Flight 655. They signed agreements and shredded them. The JCPOA was abandoned in 2018 despite repeated IAEA certification of Iran's compliance; the Islamabad Memorandum was violated within weeks of its signing. They bent international institutions into instruments of coercion: an IAEA Board resolution passed on the eve of the June 2025 bombardment, a "snapback" triggered by European states that had long since stopped honouring their own commitments. All of it in the service of a genocidal apartheid regime that has wanted this war for thirty years, and of a lobby in Washington, London, Paris and Berlin that has spent lavishly to deliver it. They have circled Iran like jackals, waiting for it to fall. It has not fallen. So Iran has reached its verdict. It will no longer negotiate under bombardment, honour agreements the other side treats as optional, or accept the killing of its children and the penury of its people as routine instruments of policy. It will put an end to this cycle, and it will do so by all necessary means. They began this war on their own timetable. It will end on Iran's.

🔺Postponed new strikes, by President, till after USA Elections‼️ While it is reported Pakistan is now aligned with Iran. Has opened the closed gateways. First time I heard the word Balkanization of Saudi. Very sad. They brought it on themselves.‼️ “ The New York Times reported on October 21, 2026, that the U.S. and Israeli militaries have developed specific plans for a short, intensive campaign of renewed strikes against Iran to take place after the U.S. midterm elections, rather than reporting an immediate postponed attack for today.” Explore this gift article from The New York Times. It would be a huge miscalculation to assume that Iran will just stand idle and watch the United States and Israel target its infrastructure and attempt to topple its political establishment. Both Washington and Tel Aviv are driven by electoral and political motives, not genuine strategic calculation: Israelis vote in six days, Americans in thirteen. Iran will deploy all its means to make any attack prohibitively costly. A third wave of war would not stay contained. Power grids, desalination plants, refineries and ports across the region would burn. Tens of millions would be left without water or electricity, and a massive wave of refugees would move from Arab countries towards Europe. Hormuz would close completely, oil would spike, and the global economy would tip into recession. Israel's economy, already bled by mobilisation and missile fire, would not survive a prolonged war of attrition. And Trump would be trapped in a crisis that consumes the rest of his presidency and leaves a wreck for his successors. A state facing an existential threat knows no boundaries. Even the ICJ's 1996 Nuclear Weapons Advisory Opinion affirmed "the fundamental right of every State to survival." The Court also could not declare even the most extreme means unlawful where "the very survival of a State would be at stake."

I have pointed out many similarities between now and February, when the US was engaged in diplomacy, but Trump had already decided to attack. But there is one significant difference as well. Back then, Trump was driven by hubris and criminally erroneous Israeli advice. Israel had convinced him that he could bring down the regime in a few days Today, he appears to be driven by another emotion: Revenge. There is a vindictive element to his calculations now because of his anger over how Iran has ruined his presidency, as he is likely about to suffer a humiliation in the midterms. So the push toward a new war is no longer necessarily driven by a (flawed) geopolitical calculation, but rather by one man's need for revenge against a country Trump himself CHOSE to attack...

The current situation reminds me immensely of the days before February 28. Intense talks were underway, mediated by Oman. Today, Qatar is playing that role. But just like in February, it seems to me that Trump has already made up his mind and that the ongoing diplomacy is just for show. Trump has, together with Netanyahu, already decided to restart the war. In February, Tehran agreed to major concessions, but it was all for naught because Trump thought he could get a better deal by simply removing the regime through war. Today, due to the misinformation space Trump lives in, he once again appears to have already opted for war because he believes it will give him better results than a diplomatic deal. Just like in February, it is a devastating miscalculation.

Things are looking very bad. Between Trump's coordination with Netanyahu - his bizarre endorsement of the Israeli war criminal and Heghseth's surprise visit there - troop movements, and perhaps most importantly, a non-starter American proposal, the likelihood of a third round of the war is reaching 90% in my assessment. As I have pointed out for weeks, Trump pretends the Strait is open and wants to exchange the lifting of the blockade for Iran's 60% HEU instead of a reopening of the Strait. It's understandable he wants a final deal right away. But it is unrealistic to expect a final deal without final-deal American compromises. As I understand it, Trump is not willing to offer that upfront, but wants Iran's 60% HEU shipped out upfront. This won't work and will likely lead to a third round of the war - before the midterms and possibly before Israel's elections on the 27th. More here: tritaparsi.substack.com/p/ca…

Did you know that Pakistani diplomats travel to the Netherlands every year for training at the Clingendael Institute in The Hague? Ambassador Robert-Jan Siegert hosted a reception for this year’s batch before their departure.

‼️Closing its border with Iran – and, if reports are true, allowing US operations against Iran – could prove a costly miscalculation for Pakistan. Appeasing Trump through hostile moves against a neighbor comes at a price.

Pakistani media is already dying. Newspapers are losing circulation due to censorship. Now authorities have sealed the newspaper market in the capital of Pakistan. Newspaper distribution is suspended. Message is very clear for the media. Pack up and start some other business. dawn.com/news/2037668

Wow! Another record! Probably, for first time in history, Pakistan’s borders with 3 out of 4 neighbours are closed for trade: India, Afghanistan & now Iran! Thank God for People’s Republic of China, whose borders remain open, Pakistan’s time-tested, reliable, all weather FRIEND!
Pakistan–Iran border closure is temporary measure to improve border management to support counterterrorism efforts. The border will be opened as soon as effective measures are in place🇵🇰
