NEW: John Healey has rejected Andy Burnham’s position on the UK rejoining the EU
Burnham has said he’d like to rejoin in his lifetime
Healey tells @krishgm: “I’m older than Andy Burnham. I don't expect to see that”
He seems to be opposing rejoining in the foreseeable future

The footage is clear. British etiquette requires we queue in an orderly manner and take our turn. @CarolineVoaden appears to think this doesn't apply to her and barging past @Nigel_Farage was acceptable. She should apologise.
Exclusive:
Nigel Farage's "physical altercation" during the State Opening of Parliament was with the Lib Dem MP Caroline Voaden - and has caused an major row between Reform and the Lib Dems.
Lib Dem sources say Voaden was left "shocked and shaken" after he "shoved" her to secure a place in the procession of MPs to the King's Speech.
Video from the Commons Chamber that day shows Farage and Voaden making their way down from their benches together.
Voaden reported the incident to the Serjeant at Arms and says Farage was asked to apologise - but hasn't.
A Reform spokesman denies any wrongdoing by Farage, saying "it was the Lib Dem MPs being aggressive towards Nigel". Lib Dems say that is "utter nonsense"
Farage said yesterday that the "physical altercation" was the reason he didn't put up a fight to be in the Chamber for the Budget after his prayer card to save a space was removed.
He said he thought that after the row with Voaden, it was "better to avoid conflict".
But in a further twist, a Commons spokesman says Farage's card was only removed because it didn't have a date stamp, which are required to reserve a spot.

The boats are now launching from Belgium.
The Belgian authorities, like the French, are just standing and watching.
This boat is even custom-made to match the Kurdish flag. The gangs are laughing at us.
EXCLUSIVE: MIGRANT BOAT LAUNCHES FROM BELGIUM AS AUTHORITIES STAND AND WATCH
29th October 2026 | Belgian-French border | Approx. 3:00 AM local time
What I believe could be the first ever footage of an illegal migrant boat launching from a Belgian beach, just across the border from France.
But the real story isn’t the boat.
It’s the Belgian authorities standing there watching it happen.
No visible intervention. No attempt to stop the launch.
Different country. Same scenes I’ve witnessed repeatedly in France.
Two countries, one border, and the same question: what exactly are the authorities doing to stop these boats?

I have just received information on a postie ripping up a Reform newspaper and putting it in the bin! This is a criminal offence!
Make him famous!

A common sense response from a UK bank chief executive.
Taxing businesses harder while celebrating a VAT reduction on gherkins sums up the priorities of this government.
The “gherkin budget” will go down as a flop.
Britain needs serious economic reform, not gimmicks dressed up as growth.

"Taxing the engines of growth to reduce VAT on gherkins is end-of-Rome level of stupidity"

Can anyone please explain to me why the Chancellor paying £100 into my bank account to help me pay my energy bill - which I can easily afford and will be rising by far more than that sum anyway - is going to help the economy or deliver growth in every postcode?
This is insane fiddling while the economy burns.

None of these changes would have been possible, either partially or in full, without having first left the EU.
So the changes the Labour government prioritises, the offering it wants to give to the British people, is with thanks to Brexit.

“Where is my breathing space?”
This is how millions of small business owners are feeling up and down the country after Burnham's failure of a budget.
A Reform UK government will scrap the tax on overtime, raise the VAT threshold to £150,000 and get our economy growing.

👏 Brilliant from Sophy Ridge as she told the Chancellor to his face: your budget does NOTHING.
The Chancellor walked in expecting soft questions on @RidgeandFrost about “change”. What he got was a direct challenge over the gap between the big promises and the empty budget he just delivered. Sophy didn’t let him hide behind spin for a second:
“When Andy Burnham came in he promised change, not just any change, big change! He promised to end 40 years of neo-liberalism. Don’t take this the wrong way, but that wasn’t a budget to end 40 years of neo-liberalism, right?”
Chancellor: “I would say that is wrong.”
He claimed he’d set out decisions that would change Britain’s energy system and market for good.
Sophy: “Like what?”
Chancellor: “Like an end to levies on household bills.”
She cut him off: “Come on! You’ve been talking about nationalisation of our utilities and ending 40 years of Thatcherism.”
Chancellor: “He’s talking about bringing energy bills down and in line with Europe.”
Sophy wasn’t having it: “You’re talking about levies on bills, this is a different order of magnitude.”
Then the line that finished him: “Give me one thing in this budget that Rachel Reeves wouldn’t have done as chancellor?”
He had nothing.
This is a big nothing burger. Starmer 2.0. No fundamental change.
Absolutely nothing in there for the working men and women who get up and graft all day for nothing. Nothing to incentivise work. Nothing to reward effort over dependency.
Is it any wonder people are happy to sit on their backsides and get paid by the state? This government shows no sign at all of addressing that.
They promised to end 40 years of the status quo. They delivered more of it.

Ok unless something bizarre happened just after the door this appears to be a straight up lie from the Lib Dems.
Is this you @CarolineVoaden
Looks like you've been caught out lying.

The OBR now expects NO growth in real earnings for British people next year.
Or the year after.
Real wages have barely grown for 20 years.
All because Tory and Labour governments made Britain a food bank for the world and punished hard workers.
Reform will reverse this.
We will cut taxes, end all welfare for foreign nationals and put BRITISH people first. 🇬🇧
He's right
But Burnham is high on his own supply now
