I have a lot of quibbles with the ways EAs do ethics but few other movements motivate adherents to take valuable steps like this. My husband and I donated ~35k this year to GiveWell in part due to being friends with people like Kelsey.
I have hit 30% of my income every year of my life so far. I will likely not hit it this year though.

The odds of 56 Senate seats was at 20% in the Split Ticket model. (260 House seats, though, was just under 10%.)
So what did the probabilistic models say the probability was for Democrats getting 260 House seats and 56 Senate seats?

How can we be confident that permitting reform will lead to more transmission lines getting built? Because we already ran this experiment 80 years ago with natural gas pipelines. After federal control of interstate gas pipelines, mileage rose to 6 times the pre-1947 baseline.

With Dems all but certain to prevail in Mississippi and Alaska, we're most likely looking at a 56D-44R Senate and a ~260D-175R House, which would be Dems' largest House majority since 1992.

Every Democrat should give this a watch
NEW: Economic populism helped deliver impressive victories for Democrats across the nation. But those gains could be fickle and short-lived or long-lasting and durable. To keep and maintain working class majorities, here’s 5 specific ideas for what they need to do next.

Stephen Miller will put things on an even keel and execute the kind of pivot back to the center that revives the public's waning faith in Donald Trump's stewardship of the country — he's exactly the kind of sober minded, careful economic thinker who'll deliver on affordability.

While we wait for the tens of thousands of early votes and absentee ballots to be counted, please read this important update from Team Mary 🧵👇 The numbers are clear: when every vote is counted, Mary Peltola will be elected as Alaska’s next United States Senator.

As Michigan’s next Senate Majority Leader, I still believe in the American Dream. My family came here from Malta and Mexico in search of opportunity in our factories. Those economic opportunities may look different today for my kids and yours, but we have a chance to build a new version of that American Dream right here in Michigan. Tuesday’s election was clear: voters want leaders who stand up to corruption, corporate greed, and the status quo. They want legislators who keep their promises and actually fight for the working class. In the State Senate, my colleagues and I are ready to meet these challenges and get to work.

SCOOP: @IBEW, whose members align with utilities, is endorsing the Senate's bipartisan permitting reform bill. "The IBEW strongly supports BAAJA... that will unlock development across the energy industry," the union said in a statement shared with me

OMG -- you gotta watch this -- Fox & Friends is big mad that a bunch of newly elected and/or young Dems, like El-Sayed and Ossoff and Talarico, are attractive 😆😭 Check out this chyron: "THE LEFT SWOONS OVER 'HEATWAVE' OF NEW DEMOCRATS" "We have an actual supermodel that's the First Lady and she can't get on the cover," Lawrence Jones whines

My crazy theory is that people think Trump is doing a shit job and wanted to send him that message.
Everyone keeps saying that Republicans didn’t vote to punish Trump. But something seems way off here… Republican votes were basically the same. Dems managed to get 20M more votes. That doesn’t seem possible. Open to wild and crazy theories!

Colom: "I have faith that the process will be followed correctly. Everybody just needs to calm down, follow the law. It's very clear the direction of this. Ultimately, at some point the senator needs to speak out. Where is Cindy Hyde-Smith? Why can't she speak for herself? What is her path for victory? She doesn't have one."
