Hey can everyone tell this NYC union @UFT that Covid is still here, still airborne, still damaging. They should be fighting for an increase in protections. Ask them about the rise in staff applying for disability/leaves/accommodations, retiring early, absences? #CovidIsntOver
In a sign that the pandemic has drawn to a close, the city Department of Education’s special COVID-19 leave policy has ended. Starting this September, absences related to COVID-19 will be charged to employees’ sick banks. Read more: bit.ly/3IkFWHN

Clean air is a fundamental part of public health, and should be a basic expectation. Just as we prioritize clean drinking water, we should prioritize the quality of the air we breathe every day. Improving indoor air quality through better ventilation, effective filtration, and cleaner air standards can help reduce the spread of airborne infections, including COVID-19, and protect community health. #CleanAir #PublicHealth #COVID #AirborneTransmission #COVID19

Covid never left and has never been at a low level. Sadly it does permanent damage to the body too. Wear n95s n clean the air, etc. Look at the population level disability rates, absence rates, illness rates, etc.
Although the autumn respiratory illness season hasn’t kicked off, and flu and RSV activity remain low, there’s a growing summer wave of Covid-19. cnn.it/4zs6nkz

Researchers warn that COVID reinfections are not risk-free, even when symptoms are mild. Each infection brings another chance of developing Long COVID or worsening existing symptoms. Less severe illness does not mean the virus is harmless. nytimes.com/2026/10/19/well/…

#AmericanCOVID (aka SARS-XFG) is kicking off the school year by ravaging kids. Global cases spiking by 400%. Add the effect of repeat reinfection, putting extra pressure on already-struggling hospital systems due to the Russian Roulette of #KidsLongCOVID. #ZeroCOVID #WearN95

“I mask up to keep my friends and partners around me safe and myself as well!” Oliver @foreverfallers cosplays as Vax'ildan. As @VirusesImmunity implied in the @nytimes, a Long COVID wave is inevitable. Letting our guard down is like playing Russian Roulette. #MaskTogetherAmerica

We coexist with bird flu now, but the public hasn’t figured that out yet. Both Sides have ignored it for over 4 years. H5N1 is in birds, mammals, humans, mice/rats, etc. The U.S. reported 70 human cases & 1 death by Jan. 2025, & then nothing until now. Winter is coming.

A COVID-19 wave doesn't end when transmission peaks. In this update, Dr. Michael Hoerger explains why transmission can remain high even after a wave reaches its peak, which regions are seeing elevated transmission, and what could influence the severity of the upcoming winter wave. Staying informed is essential as we head into the colder months. It’s the 13th wave of Covid right now. The 13th spin of the chamber. Many lives were destroyed from waves 1 to 12, but every wave is an opportunity to join them. The NYT is saying it out loud at last…

This has been normal since roughly 2023. The hosts are immunocompromised. It will get so much worse.
I’ve been thinking about this all day. A man on a Paris-Boston flight, suffered a “hemorrhage,” & no one cleaned up the blood & diarrhea. Passengers on other flights “brought the fluids home.” Hemorrhagic viruses aren’t mentioned at all. Carry on. cnn.com/travel/airline-passe…
