I shared AQA GCSE Biology RP worksheets a while ago, but have now added Chem & Physics to the collection. All can be found here- drive.google.com/drive/folde⦠May be particularly useful at the moment in time of virtual/ guided practicals! @ScienceLTEAM @ChatChemistry @ChatPhysics
Can anyone help Charlotte out with Google forms? ππ»
Wanting to introduce end of topic test but via Google forms to limit marking load. Very cheeky request, but does anyone have any of these already made for AQA GCSE sciences? @ScienceLTEAM @tesScience

Hello all, does anyone have a 6th form sciences student voice survey they could share? I want to start doing them regularly with our 6th form science students (Bio, chem, phys and BTEC).

**New blog posts**
A different sort of blog for me - I've started a series on the challenges of teaching KS4 Structure and Bonding and how I've adapted my teaching following excellent summer lockdown CPD from @chemDrK @Katenics81 and @cogscisci

Allow them to plough their own furrow. The way you lead may not be the way others do it but you need to provide opportunities- especially for aspiring post holders - to take on responsibilities and gain experience #SciLTChat
I have a couple of examiners on my teaching and leadership team. Their insights are invaluable. #SciLTChat
For your Heads of Biology/Chemistry/Physics, encourage them to become an examiner in their subjects - provides essential CPL for them that they can transfer to others. Avoid overloading them with additional work during exam season to support them with this! #SciLTChat
Ok it's #TopTip time!
Q3 - Which institutions have you turned to for support in developing your postholders. What experiences can you share? #SciLTChat
Spot on this. Know the pinch points in the year (parents evenings, exams, assessment points) and measure your expectations / workload accordingly.

How can your whole school middle leadership CPD complement the CPD needed by your TLR holders? Do they cover the people management aspects so that you can solely focus on subject-specific leadership aspects of CPL? #SciLTChat
Q2 - Ok so HOW do we develop the leadership skills of postholders. Some discussion on modelling already from @DWalkerdine ππ»ππ»ππ» thoughts? #SciLTChat

Helping postholders to realise the difference in their role/identity within the school, e.g. professionalism, not engaging with moaning/cliques etc - setting a good example #SciLTChat

Definitely. The Science Department SEF should incorporate science-specific aspects but should link to the whole school SIP #SciLTChat

Coordination between whole school and departmental programmes is important. They need to compliment each other and not compete. #SciLTChat
Great advice this from Robert. Being humble, honest, reflective and authentic in leadership goes a very long way. #SciLTChat
Where appropriate, share with them the 'mistakes' you made when you were first a TLR holder #SciLTChat

Aspects of it can and potential should be looked at as part of the recruitment and selection process, not necessarily the finished article. Having a clear remit and knowing that they can ask the HoD/HoF for support/guidance at any time (and particularly in the 1/2 #SciLTChat

You can be exposed to practical ways of undertaking certain jobs. Leadership is best undertaken by modeling what you want to TLR holders. #SciLTChat
Clarity in your function within a team ππ»ππ»ππ» #SciLTChat

Absolutely. It is essential that the TLR/postholders know what their role is in the department. In small departments, they may be the 2 i/c with more general leadership responsibilities - whereas in much larger departments they may have a more specific focus #SciLTChat 1/2
