The Scotophobic myth that Scotland receives a fiscal transfer (subsidy) from rUK:
UK's Consolidated Fund uses newly created money for expenditure, not revenue and borrowing, which are electronically destroyed. So, a fiscal transfer from one part of UK to another can't exist.

Neil Lovatt (ScotFax) does not understand that "once-in-a-generation" is figurative language, not literal language.
Taking it literally means he must believe that the SNP is the sovereign authority over UK and can thus bind future UK parliaments.

🧵 This UK Budget completely fails to meet the moment.
We will replicate the £100 support for fuel bills, but the UK Government has failed to cut energy bills by £300 as promised.
IFS:
"Scottish Government funding likely to fall in 2027–28, meaning manifesto pledges could force spending cuts or increases to devolved taxes."
Better Together didn't mention that in 2014, as it didn't know the future - UK blindly accepted at any cost.

Prof. Sir John Kay:
"Anyone ... believing either that they should vote no because independence for Scotland would be likely to be an economic disaster or vote yes because they believe it is likely to lead to an economic bonanza, has failed to review the issues sensibly."
You don't have a counterargument, because you can't prove me wrong. You're just in denial hence you've blocked me and run away like a coward.
Absolutely DEVASTATING admission by Neil Lovatt that London-centric UK has damaged Scotland's economy.
UKish nationalists are very confused. They believe that Scotland is the UK rather than just a part of the UK.
If Scotland is UK then that means UK is Scotland and so Scotland is an independent country, which means UKish nationalists are Scottish nationalists and vice versa.

I do wonder sometimes whether we need, as a way of moving on from this decade-long 50/50 split, to find a constitutional compromise that offers much of the practical autonomy of independence without a symbolic break. A 'Gibraltar solution' for Scotland? Let's at least discuss it.
You have failed to prove any of that nonsense so it's just meaningless Scotophobic scaremongering.
You do actually believe it's best for a country to be independent, at any cost, you just oppose Scotland in favour of UK (an anti-Scotland ideology).

Bailouts are bailout loans. First bailout loan was from USA with a time limit for repayment. UK had to seek a second bailout loan from the IMF to repay the first one.
Defaults are defaults. UK defaulted twice on its debt in 1932: nitter.cf/Scotophile/status/2109…

Every time we put petrol into
our cars at a fuel station, the government are fleecing us. And it’s not just the fuel duty and VAT at the petrol pump price.
£70 of petrol at 197.9p a litre buys just 35.37 litres - a partial fill for many cars. Of that £70, £18.73 is fuel duty and £11.67 is VAT. That is £30.40, or 43%, taken by the government before the engine starts.
That £70 itself was already taxed. To have £70 left after 20% income tax and 8% National Insurance, you first earned roughly £97.22. Another £27.22 was taken at source. On this single fill alone, nearly 60% of the money you worked for has already gone to the government.
It does not stop there.
Most drivers also pay Vehicle Excise Duty of around £200 a year simply for the right to use the road. On top of that, the average comprehensive car insurance premium is roughly £650, of which 12% Insurance Premium Tax - about £78 - goes straight to the government. Add those annual charges and the government extraction of our money continues to escalate with endless stealth taxes.
You earn the money. It is taxed. You spend what remains on fuel. It is taxed again. Then you pay again every year just to keep the car legal and insured…which is taxed.
For millions who need a vehicle to reach work, drive children to school or live ordinary lives, this is no longer the cost of petrol or the cost of motoring. It is a stacked system of extortionate tax charges that repeatedly takes from the same earnings. Motorists are not merely paying for fuel. They are being systematically fleeced at every stage by the government.
The cost of living crisis is also a cost of excessive government taxation crisis. So @andyburnham - if you really want to help cash strapped motorists during the cost of living crisis, drastically cut fuel duty and VAT on petrol and diesel rather than just giving advice to use google maps to find the cheapest local fuel station.
Blocking me shows you're a coward.
You're deflecting your own shame onto me. I'm just describing your actions. You have freely chosen to oppose Scotland-rule in favour of UK-rule. That's anti-Scotland. Likewise, opposing UK-rule is anti-UK.
You're just in denial.
Blocking me shows you're a coward.
You're being ridiculous. The people of Scotland would be sovereign, not the SNP.
Independence won't progress until we rid Scotland of UK-rule.
You already believe it's best for a country to be independent, you just oppose Scotland for UK.
That shows your ignorance of both the Scots language and the Scottish Languages Act 2025.

Replying to @scotfax
The moan here is that the "Scottish Languages Bill of 2025" supports Gaelic but not Scots.
Scots is basically typing in an accent, it is not a language.

In 2014 'Better Together' ran Project Fear saying that Independence would mean higher food and energy costs, yet in the real world, today, it is the enforced Union that is hammering the living standards of Scots. A bitter pill.
Apparently, it's okay for the Tories to be obsessed with independence for UK, but "dangerously irresponsible" for the SNP to be obsessed with independence for Scotland.
Poor @RussellFindlay1 has resorted to scaremongering. Maybe, UK should be part of USA.

The SNP's Scotophobic principles:
'Decisions about Scotland should be made in the EU instead of in Scotland.'
'Scotland should get governments it does not vote for - anti-Scottish democracy.'
'Political unions are better than political independence.'
