If someone can *give* you freedom, they can take it back anytime. We must be the ones who take our freedom. We must be the ones who protect our freedom.

If the world is getting a little too much may I recommend the inexplicably obsolete word ‘latibulating’, from the 17th century? To latibulate is to find a cosy corner somewhere and hide in it.

Live report: “The port belongs to those who work there, and to this city."
Dockworkers at more than 110 ports in 22 countries, across five continents, are striking today against the genocide in Gaza and the arms shipments that sustain it.
In Genoa, thousands of port workers and students have joined USB's general strike. Now, after the manifestation started with burning tires in the streets and blocking the roadway to the terminals, thousands are marching through the city.
"Today we'll block everything, then march into the port, because the port is our home,” said José Nivoi of CALP.
I'll be here reporting on the ground throughout the day as things develop.

🚨 URGENT: @the_andrey_x is in very bad shape. He has a concussion and lost consciousness several times while being detained.
Settlers blocked the ambulance from evacuating him. He is now being held ALONE in the ambulance inside the settlement and is being denied transfer to a hospital.
HAPPENING NOW🚨🚨: @the_andrey_x @infinite_jaz and I were attacked by settler-terrorists in Umm al-Khair!!
They beat us, threatened to shoot us, stole Andrey's phone and my glasses and pepper-sprayed Jasper.

Here’s a main takeaway from Afropessimism:
any real justice for Black people in this world would be the complete economic, social, psychic, spiritual undoing of the world as we know it. And that the existing tools we have for social transformation cannot readily meet the task.

My own birth mother found TOTAL STRANGERS to give me to ahead of her prison sentence b/c a non-rich woman has 24-72 hours to surrender her baby to family or foster care when she gives birth inside. Ive met women who gave birth alone in cells screaming in agony or shackled to walls
Elizabeth Holmes is not the face of motherhood behind bars.

My honest belief is that we have the organizational infrastructure necessary but it’s all atomized and segregated. Everybody is trying to create new projects but we need to be building coalition.
It's not depression it's oppression. Individual therapy is not the answer, collective action is.
