The batman signal was out for Petey for a few days now lol
Since being paired, Michkov and Martone have had a 59% xG share as a line. They were at 33 and 35% before their pairing. The team is at 37% without them on the ice. And you're telling me about defense??? These 2 are hard-carrying a whole team's chance shares.

The team is a -19 with a 38% xG share. Being a -9 in that environment is hardly notable, particularly when he's getting .868 goaltending with him on the ice. Worst of all regular forwards. Among regular forwards, only his linemates have a higher xG shares.
🚨Matvei Michkov has tripled his goal output compared to the same time last season. 40+ goal pace! 🚨His 5 power play goals put him tied for second in the entire NHL. But he also leads all PHI fwds in % of O-Zone starts and has the fewest % in D-Zone starts. He is -9 and is 2nd worst of the fwds in 5on5 on-ice goal differential -6. As long as he keeps scoring it helps mask the defensive liabilities.

It seems strange to Tony that when the pressure grows on Tocchet, little Petey Boy comes crawling out of the woodwork…..every time. Petey & Tocchet used to coach together after all……… Is little Petey Boy Tocchet’s puppet?? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

I’m so glad the flyers media is waking up to how much of a hack this guy is
"Now that we've connected these dots, it gets to a criticism of Rick Tocchet going back to Vancouver and Elias Pettersson...man it does sure seem like this is a pattern with this coach, focusing on one guy, who he just, for whatever reason...focusing on perhaps a team's best or most productive player... I don't see how this [criticizing Michkov] is productive in the least."

Code. Red. The locker room is in shambles. Culprit? Rick Tocchet.

That's the good thing here. I have no doubt Michkov's stubbornness rubs coaches the wrong way, but that's why he's great and why Tocchet can't fuck him up.
Tocchet probably hates Michkov so much because, unlike Pettersson, he hasn't just accepted being reprogrammed. Michkov will play Michkov hockey whether you like it or not. And Tocchet can't stand it.

Why are GMs so obsessed with boring ass hockey? I know the answer but it's judt baffling nonetheless

Matvei Michkov’s Card through the first 15. Playing 5v5 with a rookie 19 year old winger & a center with 3 points this year. Luckily the power play is looking good so far led by 39. The main goal right now should be getting this kid a center. #LetsGoFlyers

When people say firing the coach won’t do anything I don’t think most people are saying that it’s gonna save the season it’s 1. Making a coaching change is the easiest thing to do RIGHT NOW 2. Developing the young guys should be the priority and Tocchet historically isn’t good at developing young guys 3. His system isn’t a modern system 4. Drama follows this guy always so getting rid of him is addition by subtraction

The coach is one of the rats.
"That was a moment I was standing there right in front of Rick Tocchet and I'm thinking 'Why? Why could you not have answered this smarter'?"

The total identity shift made absolutely no sense at the time and less sense now. Torts had overstayed his welcome but you don't change your whole way of playing
Torts came in, cleaned up the room to change the culture & established an identity with this team playing fast, pressuring pucks to kill plays & turn it into offense. That identity was thrown away by playing the most boring passive system & now the room is divided #FireTocchet

Mostly, I'm just tired of the worst players on the team telling me about the problems with the team. Brother, you're the problem with the team. 33 year old Sean Couturier is one of the worst hockey players I've ever seen in my life, and he gets 17 a night and $8M a year.

I really hope @PHLY_Flyers addresses this on the show. They do a great job covering the team so I assume they will. As a fan I'm more than bothered that the worst if the Tocchet era Canucks are already here early im year 2. Things aren't getting better until something big happens
The Flyers game on Wednesday night? Uneventful. The postgame availabilities after the game were the real story. Couturier gave the team the "soft" tag. Seeler critiqued a "me, me, me" attitude. The Flyers locker room better figure all this out, fast: allphly.com/flyers/flyers-po…

Tocchet took every opportunity to rip Michkov last year about his off-season. 15 games in after MM had a stellar off-season and is 5th in the NHL in goals on a team that can’t score and Tocchet takes another shot at him. No clue how the front office can do nothing about this.

Flyers have had trouble scoring goals all season Let’s shun the players trying to create offense cause they don’t play for the crest that only represents losing

“Not about points” is pretty rich coming from someone on a team that has scored an embarrassing 1.93 goals per game to in 15 games. Locker room divided in year 2 under Tocchet once again. Whomever in the front office pushed for the Tocchet hire should be shown the door with him

If the #LetsGoFlyers continue to play in such a listless, largely noncompetitive manner, the entire justification for avoiding a teardown rebuild to preserve culture has been obliterated.
