Why does California take so long to report election results? It may not be the reason you think.

I work in aviation so this morning I got to sit around with a bunch of pilots and discuss this horrible situation and I found it so interesting that none of the pilots thought the gender or race of the pilots were a factor at all but a bunch of fucking idiots on here do.

I just a left a hipster coffee shop. It was packed with liberals, whispering amongst each other about what a commendable job President Trump did with praising Jon Husted’s muscular ass -- America is PROUD and the Republicans will take all 100 Senate seats tomorrow, even the ones not up for election! 🇺🇸

And to think, if Democrats had just nominated a safe establishment candidate like Haley Stevens, the Michigan Senate race would already be in the bag.

Good evening. “Abdul El-Sayed vs. Haley Stevens” was an experiment conducted by the University of Michigan political science department. The experiment is now complete, thank you for your participation.

It’s getting buried by the Haley Stevens nonsense, but Senator Chris Murphy had a stroke. Praying for him. He’s a good one.

Nate Cohn points out that the Times' changed its weighing process this year. This is what the new polls would look like with the old weighing process. So they're already trying to protect against a pro-Dem polling error nytimes.com/2026/11/01/upsho…

I now feel sorry for Rep. Haley Stevens. I’ve watched her in a number of interviews, and while I disagree with her, she’s always been able to substantively answer questions. She struggled to make a single coherent thought during her interview with Anderson.
I hope she made this decision on her own and not under the influence of someone else. I pray for her, and I hope she’s okay. Politics aside, she’s a human being, and that comes with enough complexities on its own.

The story here is that at a dinner Stevens and her fiancé had with the former Dem Gov of Michigan two nights ago, her fiancé was, according to the former governor, kind of bullying her about having endorsed AES. To the point that the former governor stepped in to defend her. If this was happening at a dinner with an acquaintance, at best, you can imagine what must have been going on behind the scenes.

Everything about what Mamdani has done since elected -- -- kind, effective government -- has made the "here comes Sharia law" attacks on El Sayed seem all more irrational.
Mayor Mamdani at the NYC Marathon today. He joined volunteers at the 13-mile mark in Long Island City and passed out water, high-fiving, hugging, and encouraging runners. Mamdani also wore a "faster government on my mind" hat to encourage runners and spectators to vote on the ballot propositions in Tuesday's election. NYC voters can learn more about these ballot proposals, at nyc.gov/fast

As I explain in this piece, Stevens staff was there at the Clyburn event waiting for her to arrive when they found out she'd shown up at the Rogers event.
As I report here ...
- Stevens told numerous high profile Dems last night she was voting for AES
- staff was literally waiting at the unity rally thinking she was about to arrive
- even key Dems who are similarly skeptical of AES are baffled and aghast
