"will be allowed to use illegal drugs in “private units"
This is Housing First and Harm Reduction and should be defunded.
UPDATE: A spokesperson for socialist Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson confirms residents staying at the Low Income Housing Institute’s Cloverleaf tiny house village will be allowed to use illegal drugs in “private units.”
Initially, LIHI Executive Director Sharon Lee said that wasn’t the case. This is a scandal. 🧵👇🏽

When you elect leaders who have zero business acumen but are adept at "community organizing", this is what happens. First Portland, now Seattle. But San Francisco is making a comeback. You should ask why. @SeaTimesOpinion @seattletimes
Around half of Seattle businesses report that are considering moving or shrinking, blaming a business environment that they say is getting worse and don’t believe it looks like it will get better, according to a survey from the Downtown Seattle Association and Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. kiro7.com/news/local/survey-…

How about getting people to place where can be provided this support? If not this just means more public disorder; garbage & human waste on street front of businesses & homes etc. Well-meaning people but most of what gets handed out gets discarded... ctvnews.ca/regina/article/re…

It's really an unreal story that incumbent Mayors in these Ontario cities not only lost their bid to be re-elected, a few were blown out:
Mississauga
Niagara Falls
Hamilton
Windsor
Sarnia
Milton
Waterloo
Cambridge
The people decided they'd seen enough.

The numbers don’t lie. The government said that moving away from failed harm reduction policies was supposed to make the overdose crisis worse.
Instead, the numbers went in the opposite direction. It’s time to follow the evidence, learn from the results, and focus on what works.

Hey London, Ontario! Please don’t forget to go out and vote for Susan Stevenson today.
I had the opportunity to spend time with Susan in London while making my documentary, and she is a truly genuine, caring, and principled person.
London has a lot of problems, but I genuinely believe Susan is up to the task of addressing them.
I don’t often make endorsements, but this one I have to make.
VOTE @StevensonLDN!!!

The conservative party in British Columbia 🇨🇦 just won big tonight. Part of their platform is changing drug policy to back off harm reduction, ending "safe supply" programs and closing safe injection sites while focusing on drug treatment and recovery. Wow!

Most cities that do street outreach only to do this: "encouraged service." Because they follow a harm reduction philosophy.
We're meeting them where they're at and leaving them there and it costs millions. When are we ever going to have meaningful intervention?

"For the past couple of years, I have been watching as Alberta implements its Recovery-Oriented System of Care, widely known as the Alberta model. While Alberta borders British Columbia, their approach to the addiction crisis couldn’t be more different."
Every life lost deserves our attention. Every public dollar deserves accountability. And every Londoner deserves honest answers.
Josh Morgan says “fewer people are dying,” pointing to figures between 2022 and 2024.
We are now in 2026. Londoners deserve the full, current picture. Has that progress continued? Where are people still falling through the cracks? What needs to change?
Those are questions a Mayor should welcome.
I respect the people doing difficult work on the front lines. They deserve leadership willing to examine what is working, confront what isn’t, and make changes that help them succeed.
People experiencing homelessness deserve safety, dignity, and a real path to stable housing, with access to treatment and mental health care when they need it. Residents and businesses deserve safe neighbourhoods. Taxpayers deserve to know what their money is achieving.
As Mayor, I will push for a thorough review of homelessness spending and outcomes, clear expectations for funded services, and public reporting that makes progress — and shortcomings — visible. I will work with provincial and community partners to strengthen access to treatment, recovery, and housing.
Every life saved matters. Every person still waiting for help matters, too.
Mayor Morgan, asking difficult questions is part of my job. Answering them is part of yours.

🚨Breaking 🚨 The @cpso_ca has just voted to impose new restrictions on “safer supply,” including mandatory witnessed consumption for safer supply drugs. Finally, Ontario will no longer be the “Wild West” of “harm reduction”-driven opioid prescribing.

Housing Solutions 👇🏼 Two churches operate under one roof in Tacoma. With the extra space they built out 24 beds total for men and women in recovery. They provide on sight case management, employment navigation and peer support all for $450/month. I was really inspired by this model and use of capacity. As a boots on the ground operation will confirm more than 50% of the down and out addicted street homeless we meet praise Jesus. Why not embrace this capacity? @MayorofSeattle @GovBobFerguson @ExecZahilay

This is such a bleak read.
Most depressing part (imo) is the people directly responsible for these failures not only never get held accountable, they actually keep getting elected/more government contracts + funding.

An 8.7% property-tax increase. A $58.8 million year-end surplus. Londoners deserve an explanation.
At a time when families are watching every dollar, City Hall must show how tax increases reflect actual spending needs-and how surplus funds affect your next bill.
As Mayor, I will push for clear, line-by-line actual to budget reporting so you can see what was planned, what was spent and where the difference went.
Public money deserves public answers.
