Planning a day at the beach? Always:
☀️ Check tide times & keep a look out for an incoming tide
☀️ If walking along the beach, make sure you have enough time to return to land safely
☀️ Carry a phone on you so you can call for help

🧵Last week, the UN General Assembly recognised the right to a clean, healthy, sustainable #environment as a human right.

Blustery start to the day- recovered a porpoise this morning from Cooden beach in Sussex, heading back to base with it now. Possible netmarks seen on the body, may be another bycatch case. #CSIOfTheSea examination to follow at @ZSLScience next week

The parties are assembled
The talking has begun
We can urge for change & hope they listen
But, our local waters have need for care
And whilst the ocean can heal us through times of trouble
The present & future need of this #bluemarble is beyond discussion

Also today, we're prepping to help @StrandlinersCIC who've been busy all week! Today saw them clearing rubbish on their way to the Fairlight Berm where they're bagging up the awful amount of #plasticpollution trapped there. Next Sunday is #beachcleanup removal day at high tide!
