I can't say it enough, putting your creators 1st and in a position to be successful is probably the most Important thing any brand can do on TikTok Shop. Thank you @iamshackelford & @jimmykim for giving me the opportunity to speak at my first ever event!!
Everything on TikTok Shop is affiliate driven. So how are you managing creators at scale? @alexrudolphh shares how TBAR Partners hires top affiliates as content coaches and puts them inside a Discord community for each brand. Pat Murphy changed the course of my life, more than any other person... And I hated him for it for a long time. Quick story about how getting kicked off the ASU baseball team in college changed the course of my life for the better. These last few weeks have been weird for me. Watching this person who I had such a challenging relationship with get celebrated endlessly in the media is a weird phenomenon. Out of high school I signed a scholarship to play baseball at Arizona State. Much to mother's dismay i turned down more "educationally oriented" opportunities to play for the #1 team in the country. It was baseball heaven. The walls covered with the retired numbers of all time legends, Barry Bonds, Reggie Jackson etc. etc. My freshman year my roommate was Dustin Pedroia! You couldn't ask for anything better as a 18 year-old dreaming of becoming a pro. Murph was tough. No non-sense, kind of a dick, but the kind of coach you really want approval from. (I see this even in the Brewers players today) My freshman year I didn't get to play, I was pissed, felt like I deserved a shot but there were more senior guys that he felt like deserved continued chances even when they struggled. He was always very loyal to "his guys". There began to develop this sort of weird divide on the team between the older and younger players. The freshman were all very close and a few of us resented some of the chances repeatedly given to the older guys. In addition, we were immature, partied too much, didn't take school serious enough and acted entitled. (I can see this now in reflection). The culmination of all this internal conflict manifested after the "Rookie Show". A tradition at ASU where all the freshman had to make comedy skits and perform them in front of the whole team. A group of us freshman made a video mocking the "Leadership Team", a group of juniors/seniors that met together with murph after practices. Bad idea. I remember playing the video and no one laughing. Terribly awkward. The night ended and I didn't think too much of it, dumb skit but whatever. The next day Murph called me up to his office and told me he was kicking me off the team. He said it was the most offensive skit he'd seen in all his years and that someone needed to take the blame and he believed I was the ring leader. I'll never forget leaving that office and walking home. I was mortified. My whole life was just flipped upside down. I ended up transferring to UCI, where we made the school's first ever run to the college world series where we eliminated ASU and Murph in a walk off win in the 13th inning. It was peak redemption arc for me personally. That same week I was drafted by the yankees, got to play in Charleston, where I met my wife and the rest is sort of history. A real butterfly effect moment on how my life could have been different. For so long I had such a negative view of my experience with Murph. I thought I got screwed. But when you watch someone succeed at so many levels, ultimately ascending to the highest level of the profession, while being adored by everyone around them you have to stop and reflect on whether or not YOU might have been the problem. Regardless the wound is long healed and I have come to appreciate the experience. So cheers Murph CONGRATS on an incredible run.
Pat Murphy's full speech to the Brewers after they won the World Series will bring a tear to your eye ❤️🥺 (via @Brewers)

One of the most overplayed tropes in ecom is about raising your AOV. You can often dramatically increase your TAM and in turn reduce your CAC by doing the opposite.
.@stevenborrelli on the pricing experiment that flipped their unit economics:⁣ ⁣ "Our AOV dipped to $140. But then our CAC dipped from like $120 to $55."⁣ ⁣ "To get the same revenue, we did have to acquire more customers. But the new customer count—in August of this year, we acquired half of the total '25 cohort in one month."⁣ ⁣ "It's almost like a weird thing where the customer getting more value is what lowered the CAC."

Non gummy brand does amazing!!!! There has been no more masterful execution of consumer product brand growth than what the team at Skullcandy has pulled off the last 3 years. Today’s announcement is not random. It’s the end result of brilliant strategic planning and execution by the SC team. @bgyeah is the single best brand leader I have ever encountered. In a world where hard goods, with basically no LTV and moderate margins are functionally dead they mapped a course to an incredible outcome. It should be a case study for every brand in our space. Well done. 🏆

This iOS27 rollout may have impacted Meta conversion rate starting around October 1st and looking really noticeable from October 5th onward. Anyone else notice this?

Q4 is when ecommerce brands obsess over every dollar. Media efficiency. Conversion rates. Customer acquisition costs. Margins. But there's one line item that rarely gets the same scrutiny. Your software stack. Brands will spend weeks trying to squeeze another 5% out of their ad performance while continuing to overpay for tools they've used for years. Your ESP is a perfect example. Omnisend is giving brands a pretty compelling reason to reconsider that expense: -Save up to 30% compared to your current provider. -Get your email, SMS, and automations migrated in as little as 5 days. -Let their team handle the heavy lifting. No massive implementation project for your team. Just an opportunity to lower costs without adding more complexity. Especially heading into the most important revenue stretch of the year, that's a conversation worth having. your.omnisend.com/TaylorHoli… #AD

It’s been a little over a month since my agency TBAR Partners got acquired by Common Thread Collective So here’s an update on where TBAR is at: - Alex Rudolph and I are more motivated than ever working like crazy to provide the best TikTok shop service possible. The CTC team has helped us a ton on systemizing operations and helping us become more efficient and not break at scale! - We started a TikTok shop live offering and are running lives with a lot of early success for some really cool brands - I’m about to hit 10k followers on LinkedIn so make sure to follow me ;) - Alex and I got to speak at Commerce Roundtable which was our 1st ever event we went and 1st time speaking so excited for more opportunities like that - retention rate and MRR for us has been growing like crazy which is always a good sign - we launched a trybe management service for some really big brands and it’s been crushing, we have one brand who’s been in the top 10 trybe list multiple times already so excited to scale that - we hit platinum tier as a TikTok shop agency for 24hrs and then went back down but we are about to hit it again which I’m excited for as there’s only like 5 other agencies that are platinum Super grateful for the opportunity to serve our clients and also have the opportunity to be under Common Thread Collective This 1st month has went super fast but it’s been awesome as I have learned so much in this short time and super excited for the coming months

Higher ad spend during Black Friday can be the right call if the volume justifies it. The decision gets harder when you’re looking at 47 lines on a P&L. @TaylorHoliday breaks it into four buckets so you can see where the money goes and what to do next.

You can quibble with the numbers (I think they are much more pessimistic than reality) BUT Dave’s point is right. Except it doesn’t only apply to “middle men” or agencies. It applies to ALL LABOR AND SOFTWARE. If you don’t generate incremental value in excess of your cost you will be replaced. The outcome is the expectation. Especially in the SMB market.
The math doesn't math anymore. Ecommerce is a harder game than it's ever been and there's less money for brands than ever. Brands, Agencies, and Service Providers need to change their models.

If you have a CPG brand that you believe is ready to aggressively scale, read this post: @JoySharma_11 is crazy. In the works more hours, is willing to go further, spends more time thinking about eCommerce than anyone on earth kind of way... He drives me nuts. But that is the kind of extraordinary effort it requires to produce extraordinary outcomes. He has been bugging me for months about creating an offering for subscription brands that focuses on RAPID SCALING. I finally gave in. It's extreme, but he believes in it so much that he is going to PERSONALLY MANAGE the first 3 brands that join. He believes he will DOUBLE YOUR SPEND in 90 days and handle EVERYTHING NEEDED TO DO IT. That means you get: 1. The Hourly Scaling API We use our private Meta API to force spend into your winning hours. We bully everyone else out of the auction in the windows that matter. 2. Offer and Landing Page Design We research, build and publish offers that outbid your category We manage $3B+, so we see what everyone bids, the closest thing to cheating an auction. Then we build it all for you: the offer, the pricing, the landing page. 3. Branded static ads For ever off and page Made in-house. Live in days. We double down on whatever the auction likes. 4, Proven Creators Ready To Work on Your Brand *This part is uniquely awesome* We have a special partnership with @RefunnelApp on this offer. They dug through their data and pulled the creators who always work. They sit in a private group, just for this program. Free, no % of spend, no % of sales. 5. 24/7 buyers. Hourly receipts. Every hour, your Slack shows the extra spend we created. Behind it: trained buyers who manage $100,000 a day in budget. Never a VA. 6. A forecast you can bank on Good to ±5%. Order inventory against it. Add a Meta credit line, cash never caps you. ★ Bonus: @JoySharma_11 is your growth strategist. He directs this program and oversees $1 billion+ a year in revenue. Joy will personally be your growth strategist on all three spots. He would rather die than have this offer fail. He's banking a lot on this working. You will not find a harding working, smarter strategist in the entire world. Sign Up Here To Learn More: commonthreadco-global.com/x And if you want to hear Joy talk about the offer directly listen to this episode of our pod: youtube.com/watch?v=6psqtXu4…

Some say @TaylorHoliday is just a nerd. Numbers guy. A wizard. Taylor Potter some people call him. (Not verified) However, let’s not forget that the man can sell and market the shit out of anything. Put a C on his chest and some respect on his name. Pack of cards will be unboxed live on @LinkedIn, not this dumpy Rogan and Elon echo chamber high school cafeteria platform on Thursday, November 12th. Let’s go!!
Marketing is gonna hate me for this leak… But I’m too excited. #SHOPPS Season 1 dropping so soon.
