Jp is NOT gonna like this lol
A NEAR transaction has now been signed by an ICP canister.
A community developer has built a Rust canister that controls a NEAR account and can construct and sign transactions using ICP’s Ed25519 signing capability.
The first transfer has already gone through on NEAR testnet.
The interesting part is how this works: rather than storing a private key in one place, ICP’s threshold signing technology allows subnet nodes to collectively produce signatures without reconstructing the full key.
There is an important distinction: this first demonstration used a local test key. Mainnet deployment is the next step, where the distributed signing setup comes into play.
The developer says the code will be made public soon.
Another example of community developers exploring how ICP can connect to other blockchains.
Verify it yourself:
Developer’s original post: forum.dfinity.org/t/signing-…
NEAR testnet transaction: testnet.nearblocks.io/txns/H…
🚨 Cosmos drain update: ~$3.16M now taken from 41,500+ wallets on @osmosis, @cosmoshub and @injective
The receiving wallet hasn’t transacted in 30mins, but the attacker is now actively testing a tool that steals STAKED $ATOM in batches. The batch version looks like the next step for taking the staked $ATOM still left in drained wallets.
Protect yourself:
1️⃣ Move to a NEW seed. A hardware wallet ideally - DO NOT STORE YOUR SEED PHRASE DIGITALLY E.G. A SCREENSHOT)
2️⃣ $ATOM stakers: tokenise your stake & send it to the new wallet. Unstaking takes 21 days
3️⃣ Never enter your seed anywhere
4️⃣ Ignore any "recovery" DMs
Step 2 is the important one. Unstaking takes 21 days, and the attacker can take staked $ATOM instantly, so tokenising the stake is the only way to move it in time.
The attacker is already set up to drain all remaining assets 21 days from now when the unstaking process concludes for non-tokenized assets. That will be automated via script, and happen far quicker than you can do it manually.

🚨WEB3 falls short if users ownership is limited to tokens only.
Let's Start at the Beginning: WEB1, WEB2, and WEB3
WEB1 was all about "read-only" content. Then came WEB2: "read and write," where users could create and share content, making the internet more interactive and social.
⚠️ But here's the catch: today, a handful of big tech companies control nearly the entire internet, hosting around 80% of it.
They have absolute power over what stays online and how it’s used. Social media giants like Meta, Google, and X don’t just provide services; they track everything users do, mine personal information, and profit from it.
Privacy is practically nonexistent; everything users share is harvested and monetized, with little regard for individual rights.
💡 Don't get me wrong progress requires incentives, and that's understandable. But the reality is, if you're not paying for it, you're not the customer; you're the product being sold.
🔗 WEB3 aims to change the game by adding "ownership" to the mix.
But how do we provide ownership without everyone having to run their own servers, like in the early days of the internet? That model was too demanding, which is why cloud services became popular, they let users pay as they go and scale up when needed, offering better value overall.
🚀 It all started with Bitcoin and its decentralized blockchain model, designed to prevent any single entity from having control while giving users full sovereignty over their digital asset.
For a few years, numerous blockchains emerged, replicating Bitcoin's model in various forms. The next major breakthrough was Ethereum, which introduced smart contracts that enabled coding for tokens and interactions, giving rise to DeFi services and providing a framework that other blockchains adopted.
Essentially, these are token ledger databases with computations limited to token interactions, lacking the capability to store data efficiently or affordably.
✅ Their core purpose is to provide an efficient trustless database that serves as a settlement layer for tokenized assets and they've succeeded.
🔐 The tokenized asset aspect of WEB3 is largely addressed, but what about everything else?
Ledger blockchains are limited to managing tokens and transactions, they're not designed to handle complex computations, store data, or host websites, all of which are essential for user interaction and true data sovereignty.
Storing even small amounts of data is prohibitively expensive. On the most affordable ledger blockchains, storing just 1MB would cost over $1,000, and the cost only rises as token values increase.
😟 How safe do you feel knowing that your preferred dApp is running on centralized cloud, exposed to hacks, malicious employees, and the risk of data being changed, copied, sold, or deleted?
🛠️Did you know that most dApps run 70%-80% of their operations offchain, with only 20%-30% actually on the blockchain?
Onchain components handle token management, transactions, and DeFi smart contracts, while offchain components are responsible for hosting, complex computations, and all non-token/transaction related data.
⚖️ To truly achieve the Web3 vision, users need sovereignty and ownership over their data and computing in a secure, verifiable, and decentralized manner, ensuring that no single entity has control.
🌐 In 2015, Dfinity set out to address this exact challenge.
While most projects were focused on designing blockchains for tokenized assets, Dfinity created something entirely new: a blockchain capable of hosting the entire internet in a decentralized way, building a fully sovereign network independent of big tech services.
#InternetComputer design choices are decoupled from traditional ledger-based blockchains. It is a general-purpose cloud computing blockchain that provides the raw computational power and data availability needed to migrate away from centralized big tech cloud services.
The ledger token aspect represents less than one percent of its overall capabilities.
⚙️ The blockchain's computational power and throughput rely on the underlying hardware.
#ICP nodes are standardized, high-performance enterprise servers costing ~$30K and connected via dual 10GB internet links in independent data centers.
Node providers are required to own the hardware, ensuring the network maintains full sovereignty, ultimately delivering a true decentralized version of the internet.
🚧 This approach stands in stark contrast to traditional ledger blockchains, which are focused on minimizing hardware requirements to allow anyone to run a node, even on decade old hardware.
Some newer blockchains require slightly better, mid-range hardware due to improved consensus mechanisms that boost throughput through parallelization and other advancements.
✨ The amazing part of ICP's design is that not only do smart contracts serve websites directly, but they also have HTTPS capabilities, allowing them to interact seamlessly with WEB2 and other blockchains.
Additionally, they provide native multichain functionality, meaning their smart contracts can directly interact with other blockchains that are already integrated.
🤝 InternetComputer is designed to complement, not replace ledger blockchains, enabling dApps to move away from centralized infrastructure entirely.
⭕️ICP is not a one-size-fits-all solution; there are scenarios where other ledger blockchains are better suited for tokenized assets management.
However, dApps can still leverage ICP for hosting, computation, and data management, combining the strengths of different blockchains for a genuine WEB3 solution.
📜 A defining feature of the new WEB3 cloud internet is its governance model, how changes to the network are proposed, voted on, and implemented.
In this regard, ICP stands out, being fully governed by the NNS #DAO, giving users complete control.
No changes, including adding or removing nodes, can happen without an approved proposal.
The blockchain is fully autonomous, eliminating reliance on node providers for upgrades, as approved proposals automatically trigger code changes.
💰Hosting costs for computation and data are fixed, unaffected by the value of the ICP token.
📖 I highly recommend reading the Signal App founder's post to gain insight into why the WEB3 vision cannot depend solely on ledger blockchains and tokenized assets. moxie.org/2022/01/07/web3-fi…
☢️The current crypto space is plagued by misleading narratives like AI, DeSci, and SocialFi, running on ledger blockchains as if they were designed for or capable of supporting them.
💊In reality, it's deceptive, with everything offloaded offchain, failing to address the core issues and truly solve the problems at hand.
👉 Spot any flaws in my reasoning? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
Found this helpful? A like, reshare, and follow @ajki76 would mean a lot! 🤞
He gets it.
I researched $ICP, and honestly, the retail narrative around it is completely disconnected from what they're actually building.
People keep saying it will go below $1 or die.
Look beyond the price chart, and you'll understand its true potential.
At this point jpdawg should just retire lol. Hes a horrible at $NEAR marketing. @ajki76 is like the michael Jordan of calling out bullshit.
#DunkedOnHim
What I’m calling out is the narrative that $NEAR has anything to do with AI. The marketing doesn't survive contact with its own docs.
For example:
⚠️The blog says ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini access is "zero visibility to providers"
The docs say those models are "proxied to their providers" and "the TEE privacy and verifiability guarantees do not extend to the upstream provider."
⚠️The landing page says "100% requests attested"
15 of 51 models are in TEEs. OpenAI alone has more entries in the "private AI" catalog than NEAR entire TEE fleet.
⚠️"user-owned AI" one private company, one gateway, one billing system. The chain's only job is routing your staking rewards to that company.
⚠️"our stack" Phala dstack, open source, Apache 2.0. their own docs says the SDK was "built by Phala Network."
None of this is any kind of Web3 AI. It's an OpenAI API compatible reseller running on Intel/NVIDIA enclaves, with a token stapled to the invoice.
Let me ask you straight: does the average crypto user think NEAR built Web3 AI?
Because that's who this is for. Not you, you know the difference between an enclave and a blockchain.
It's for the holder who bought the "NEAR is the AI chain" story and doesn't realize the chain's entire job is to move staking rewards from their wallet to Jasnah Inc.
"only the foundation is allowed to work on products" Sure, thats why Anthropic have own ICP connector and Claude Code works on it directly: Internet Identity login, canister discovery, onchain calls etc..
Nobody's gated behind @caffeineai that's one door, Anthropic connector is another, icp-cli with own agent skills is a third.
Now do the same exercise for near.ai.
Name one door into it that isn't Jasnah Inc.
Gateway? Jasnah.
Direct endpoints? Jasnah.
Private Chat? Jasnah.
The "decentralized" GPU marketplace? Jasnah
When real medicine is on the shelf, pointing at the snake oil matters even more. And this one's easy, the docs admit what it is while marketing and social narrative claim the opposite.
Same bottle, two labels. Marketing wrote "cure" because marketing can. The docs wrote "snake oil" because the docs have to. Guess which one the holders read.
Im so glad our founder cant be found in the trenches. @dominic_w thanks for being a stand up guy and I truly mean that.
yo solana guys, come to the NEAR trenches. even the founder is here.
someone turned this tweet into a token on @justhootfun. Illia aped it, then split the bag with his co-founder @AlexSkidanov.
love that this is playing out like Robinhood Chain's first weeks. Vlad Tenev tweeted that his chain "works great for memes too", and three weeks after launch it had more daily users than Base.
difference is, Vlad said it. Illia bought one.
and you can buy it straight from Phantom, no NEAR wallet needed.

The problem is that even many $ICP fans don't understand what it is actually solving.
Some genuinely believe that apps running on ICP can't be hacked. That's nonsense. Bad code can be exploited anywhere and ICP is no exception.
What ICP does is eliminate entire categories of infra related attack vectors. Instead of trusting countless third parties, servers, cloud providers, and adminis, you're relying on the security of a single decentralized protocol.
That protocol has been running for over five years, securing more than a billion dollars in value.
The real breakthrough is drastically reducing the number of things that can be compromised.
Read the post below for some examples of the attack vectors ICP eliminate.
nitter.cf/ajki76/status/21180628…
Replying to @realDrjim_W
I think you are missing the point of what $ICP is actually solving.
Let's look at some major hacks:
Bybit: Had exactly what you prescribe:
an air-gapped multisig cold wallet with hardware signers.
Still lost $1.5B. The compromised laptop wasn't even Bybit's. A Safe Wallet dev was hacked, attackers obtained AWS credentials and replaced the JavaScript in Safe AWS S3 bucket. The signers approved what the screen showed them. The screen lied. The malicious JavaScript was removed two minutes later.
Binance: DevOps laptop -> service container -> the signing system signed whatever it was told. No private key was leaked.
Bangladesh Bank: Custom malware inside SWIFT Alliance Access, manipulating the Oracle DB to conceal fraudulent transfers.
Capital One: A misconfigured WAF on AWS.
See the pattern?
The pattern isn't "humans". It's one human reaching one mutable server that sits between the signer and the chain. #InternetComputer removes that server.
An attacker compromises a mutable component of the infra and changes what the system does. That infra is the attack surface, not the person signing.
That's the attack surface $ICP is designed to eliminate:
✅Frontends served directly from canisters, with responses certified by the subnet and verifiable by the client. No S3 bucket where attackers can silently replace JavaScript.
✅No traditional service containers, SSH access or admin controlled databases. Canister state changes are executed through subnet consensus.
✅No single administrator holding the upgrade keys on a laptop. Canisters can be governed by a DAO, with upgrades requiring a vote.
✅No complete signing key sitting in one place. Threshold crypto distributes key shares across nodes, while properly implemented consent messages let users verify what they're signing.
✅ No API keys or cloud credentials. Canister calls are authenticated by the protocol, nothing for a compromised laptop to hand over.
✅ Verifiable deployed code. Wasm hash is onchain, reproducible builds let anyone check it matches source.
✅ Public controllers. Anyone can see who can upgrade a canister, one key, DAO, or nobody.
✅ Withdrawal policy enforced by consensus. Limits and approvals live in the canister, not in a backend someone can reach.
✅ Upgrades go through a visible voting window. A malicious change is a public proposal, not a silent push.
✅ Certified data reads. Balances and transaction lists are verifiable as coming from the subnet, not a tampered node.
✅ No runtime supply chain. Dependencies compile into the WASM, nothing fetched at execution time.
✅ No passwords or seed phrases to phish. Internet Identity uses passkeys, with a separate principal per app.
✅ No key server. vetKeys derive encryption keys onchain via threshold crypto.
Your three "someone still has to" points: code bugs, key custody and user signing and those are real risks, and they apply everywhere. ICP has never claimed otherwise.
What $ICP solves is that the infra layer exploited in hacks like Bybit, Binance, Bangladesh Bank etc.. can be fundamentally redesigned to eliminate entire classes of attack.
#InternetComputer isn't trying to make traditional infra more secure. It's eliminating entire attack surfaces by making that infra unnecessary.
That's why I'm genuinely optimistic about ICP future.
The tech addresses real problems, and its potential extends far beyond what we've seen in crypto.
I like the direction @dominic_w is taking on X lately, focusing on practical problems and what $ICP can do to solve them.

Ive been saying this for years and I think these midterms might be the visual catalyst ( its been playing out for a while)
Like @BobbyO_ said politics is all a scam. It doesnt matter who wins or who loses.
We are in the process of a transition between What was and what will be. Idk what will be but I have a feeling this transition period will be VERY turbulent. I think things will get extremely bad. Civil wars, global wars etc.
All I can say is get out of the cities. Thats where it will start. No food, looting etc.
Good luck to everyone and may the odds be ever in your favor.

"any market maker who wants to quote your coin"
docs say market makers need an API key from the partner portal + KYC/KYB. The relay every quote runs through requires it. That's vendor onboarding, not an open market.
“no listing talks”
docs have a section called "decision process for token listing." If nobody market makes your token, their in-house Solver Inc. will IF you lend them the liquidity.
And $PEARL launched with a campaign page on near.com announced by @near_intents. That's a listing.
“no custody”
One bridge route is PoA, run by the operator or omni hot wallets. That's where $3.8M BSC hot wallet hacks gappend and 11 chains got paused by one decision.
"carries the custody risk and the legal review"
So does Intents. That's what SHIELD, KYC/KYB and PoA bridge are.
The exchange didn't go away. You just can't appeal to it.

$ICP 🔥🔥
I genuinely believe the next MULTI-BILLION-DOLLAR opportunity in crypto is emerging right now.
Not a meme.
Not another speculative AI token.
A fundamental shift in how the internet works.
The software industry is facing a massive crisis.
AI is evolving faster than traditional software infrastructure can keep up. Centralized platforms, cloud monopolies, fragmented systems, and outdated internet architecture were never designed for a world where humans and AI agents operate side by side.
And I believe the answer could be the Internet Computer ($ICP).
Not just another blockchain.
Not just another crypto project.
A completely new internet protocol for humans AND AI.
An internet where software runs on-chain.
Where AI agents can own assets, execute code, interact with services, and operate independently.
Where applications don’t depend on centralized cloud providers.
Where the infrastructure itself is decentralized.
And here’s what makes it even more interesting:
The Internet Computer is built around familiar internet standards, including HTTP.
It doesn’t aim to replace the internet with another isolated ecosystem.
It aims to extend what the internet can actually do.
The next evolution of the internet could be HTTP-based, decentralized, and AI-native.
Think about what NVIDIA became for the AI revolution.
Now imagine what ICP could become for the software and infrastructure revolution.
The World Computer.
The software stack for the next generation of the internet.
The infrastructure connecting billions of humans and autonomous AI agents.
I don’t think most people understand the scale of what this could mean yet.
The next trillion-dollar technology shift might not be another app, another model, or another cloud provider.
It might be an entirely new way of building and running software.
And I’m betting on $ICP as the foundation of that future.
Not because of a narrative.
Because the internet itself may be ready for its next evolution.
The World Computer is coming.
