ALT The incident that took place in Belabo, Narsingdi, has exposed a stark picture of the current system of governance and law and order in the country. Altaaf Hossain of Tekpara, who grew up without receiving the affection of his parents and was raised with the love and care of his grandmother and uncle, is a Class 10 student. Along with him was Durjoy, a Class 9 student. On the evening of September 28, while returning home after completing their coaching classes, these two unsuspecting teenagers were picked up by the police. They have no political identity, no organizational position or designation—and there is not even any specific case filed against them. Yet, simply by labeling them as “Chhatra League” members, these two underage students have been jailed for political purposes.

A. Malek, BNP Member of Parliament for Sylhet-3 and an alleged mafia godfather. By carrying out such a brutal killing in broad daylight while openly disregarding the law, the alleged true face of the BNP’s mafia syndicate has now been exposed before the people of the country.
