Would/should the public trust an #OfficeOfTheWhistleblower with those who - have trolled #whistleblowers with alt/sock accounts. - made false reports to police forces & regulators about whistlers & a whistleblowers’ charity. - have turned a blind eye to evidenced, serial, lies, which have misled. - refuse financial transparency? Look at the evidence in the public domain, & stop ignoring the victims & their evidence.

Just want to tell you about an amazing colleague I met last week. Victoria joined us 3 years ago when she was still in prison, via our Max Spielmann training academy inside HMP Downview. She started to go out on day release, and has now worked her way up to shop manager, and now has become a member of the area team!

For most, the law addresses threatening suicide as a means to control. For the rich/famous/celebrity..? To a lesser extent, some wrongdoers feign illness, cry victim, to avoid accountability duncanlewis.co.uk/Legal_News…

WBUK CEO nearly cost a journalist their job. Her tweet about the journalist is BS.
Replying to @hopenothate
Nobody should have to fear for their family’s safety because of their reporting. Today’s verdict sends a clear message that the harassment and intimidation of journalists comes with consequences.

While we’re in the mode of what Jason Arday did wrong. Helen’s Private Eye compared him Jeffery Archer and Mohammed El Fayed as a liar and fabulist. Her podcast on him has been deleted, but I see no mea culpa now he has been cleared of plagiarism by 4 committees
Surely it can be possible to conclude that the attention was disproportionate, and his race was a factor (both in his promotion and his hounding), without having to pretend that he did nothing wrong and has been "cleared"?

I worked at my local hospital during the pandemic. Halford-Hall, WBUK CEO, busied herself making false complaints to police forces about innocent people & @ChtyCommission about a long standing charity working around the clock. #whistleblowing #fake #fraud #MIPO

Interesting thread.
🚨🇬🇧 They say, “Tommy was protecting his family.” “They did it to him first.” Two excuses. A jury heard and rejected both. The Mail wrote about a public figure on holiday. Tommy hired private investigators to photograph journalists’ homes, then told a million followers “I will find you.” That isn’t the same thing. And it isn’t protection. Here’s what the jury actually heard. What happened In August 2024, while England was rioting, Robinson was on holiday in Cyprus, posting about the riots to his followers. The Mail found him there and ran a story: “Stoking riots from his sunbed.” Over the next three days he went after the two reporters, Jacob Dirnhuber and Andrew Young. 🔺5 August: a direct message to Dirnhuber. “I’ll be knocking at your door.” 🔺5 August: a phone call to Young. Robinson told him he’d be coming to his home and that he’d “have to move house.” 🔺6 August: a post naming Dirnhuber, saying he and the other Mail journalists had “today been located.” 🔺7 August: a video to around a million followers. He said he had details of where they and their families lived. He told them to abide by “men’s rules.” Then: “The men, on the other hand, I will find you.” He also hired private investigators to photograph their homes. He admitted it in court. The result: Dirnhuber moved house. Young was given a close protection officer. The law The charge was harassment causing fear of violence. The prosecution had to prove a course of conduct that made each man fear violence on at least two occasions, and that Robinson knew or ought to have known it would. That last part is an objective test. What Robinson says he meant doesn’t decide it. What decides it is what a reasonable person would expect a million followers to do with “I will find you.” His defence He said he was protecting his family. That is a real defence in law, if the conduct is reasonable for protecting someone. Police had given him four threat-to-life warnings. The jury heard all of it. Why it failed He admitted the aim was pressure. Telling a million people where journalists live doesn’t protect your children. It endangers theirs. 🔺He didn’t dispute that they were frightened. Asked in evidence, he said no. 🔺He never complained to the press regulator. He never asked the Mail to change or remove the story. The legal route was there. He skipped it. 🔺His own words. “Men’s rules” is not the language of protection. One is journalism, however much you dislike it. The other is a threat. The jury He chose this. At the magistrates’ court he was offered a trial there. He opted for a jury instead, saying he wanted 12 members of the British public to hear the evidence. They did. They convicted on both counts. Sentencing is on 16 December.

Such a "bright lad" will realise that stalking and almost killing a girl in bright daylight = slap on the wrist. And what about the bright girl who almost died? All the other bright girls who are stalked and attacked? What conclusions will they draw? thetimes.com/uk/crime/articl…

I understand this is not his first time, but multiple people at WBUK have used harassment, multiple times, against innocent people causing fear & distress - justice needed.
Tommy Robinson is who he is. Politics aside (we are a democracy allegedly) I hope the yard stick used for him is applied in the same way to others. #Harassment from parliamentary pass holding WBUK CEO et al being one such example. #whistleblowing

📢 Whistleblower Summit | UK Parliament | Monday 2nd November, 2pm–5pm The APPG on Investment Fraud and Fairer Financial Services invites you to register your interest for a complimentary place at a special event in Parliament on the vital role whistleblowers play in society, and the need to protect them from retaliation. The summit is dedicated to the memory of whistleblower Simon Andriesz, who took his own life after reporting retaliation by his former employer. His case featured on BBC File on 4 Investigates. Simon had pleaded with the FCA for help, explaining that he and his family “were in crisis.” His death has led whistleblowers around the world to unite in condemning the regulator. As far as we know, this is the first time whistleblowers worldwide have spoken out together on behalf of a fellow whistleblower. Baroness Kramer has also spoken about Simon’s death in the Lords, and the case has received widespread media coverage. 🤝 Show your support for whistleblowers by attending. 👉 Register your interest for a free place: forms.gle/Y2wBQkc9TJhBGfxs9 🎧 BBC File on 4: bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002yx4… 📰 Press coverage: appgifffs.org/in-the-press #Whistleblowers #WhistleblowerProtection #UKParliament #FCA #APPGIFFFS #SimonAndriesz @appgonifandffs @WhistleUK @VigjilencaAbazi @CompassnInCare @psst_org @susanpjhawley @TransparencyUK @SafecallGB @stevemiddi1 @Carlier_J87 @johnmcdonnellMP @natalieben @J_Robertson_UK @MLorrM @Wftproof @WarmingtonRjw @ArturNadol7566 @IanByrneMP @SueFlood52

CONFIRMED. Gas Standing Charges to be scrapped. I've just come out of a meeting with the Chancellor. The gas standing charge will be scrapped in 2027 (my guess, either for 1 Oct price cap or the 1 Jan 28 price cap). Having campaigned against the moral hazard of standing charges for years, I'm pleased. It's currently £108 a year. That cost will be shifted onto unit rates. We don't know how much yet, but I suspect just under 1p per kwH. The Chancellor also said he will be talking to Ofgem about how they get rid of the charge on electricity as well, but that is 'trickier' apparently and will take longer. This is primarily about the price cap standing charges. There will still be an open market, so other firms can offer other forms of prices with or without the standing charge. My suspicion is that once it goes on the price cap, it will tend to be reduced on other tariffs as well. As for those on fixes: if you get a fix now, the rate of your fix is fixed, so this should not affect it. You will pay what you pay and if it has standing charges they will continue (some asking if they should delay fixing because of this, no if a fix is right for you and will save you money, don't let this change that - this is about the structure of bills, as opposed to the actual costs on bills). About 60% of people will pay less due to this, 40% more. My guesstimate is the dividing line will be somewhere around 12,500 kilowatt hours of gas (can't know until there is actual pricing). According to a study by Nesta, this switch would leave the majority of people in all income groups under £100,000 better off. Of course, when this does come in, if we're still in the nightmare that we are right now, there will need to be support put in for vulnerable higher users, who will have to pay more. Though hopefully by then the mid-east will have calmed and energy prices lower. --------------- That's all long term. The biggest issue in energy right now is that we're expecting a 27% rise in the price cap in January. I asked the Chancellor whether he will be intervening on that. He told me I'd have to wait for the budget, but reading between the lines, yes, there will be an announcement today. Whether it's an increase in the Warm Home Discount, or whether it's council tax banned, or whether it's done via a payout for people in say council tax bands A-D as a proxy for household income as Rishi Sunak did who knows.
