Incredible to do this after days of conservatives saying that Obama’s Cheesecake Factory joke shows that he’s an elitist who hates Middle America. Beginning to think he’s got a huge Kalshi bet on Dems taking the Senate.
Trump's affordability message: "You could even come to Mar-a-Lago. You'll be my guest. The problem is that for $5,000 the most you'll be able to buy is a hamburger and maybe a small dessert. I'm not even sure you could buy that! No, don't go there. It's not a good place if you're price conscious."

North Korea's government is democratic and for the people. Literally in the name of the country! – at Cardiff, Wales
Hitler was a far left socialist. Literally in the name of his party!

If the six or so "core" wealthy Commonwealth states pull out or just stop taking it seriously (which already happens under right-wing administrations), the Commonwealth just becomes a talking-shop of have-nots. Maybe that's what the Caribbean wants, but I think it's stupid.

Plus her Japanese translator would have to be murdered, her Italian translator stabbed and her Norwegian publisher shot.
For the Sally Rooney - Salman Rushdie parallel to work, a major Jewish leader would have had to call for her murder, gangs of marauding Jews would have had to burn down bookstores, and a Jewish extremist would have had to stab her eye out with a knife.

Riots have not in fact become harmonised across EU Member States.
Read the headline. Nod sagely. Then look at the pic above it. Shake head vigorously. Hilarious juxtaposition.

Absolutely, great idea! I’ll start. @GoodLawProject is a deeply misogynistic organisation that continuously attacks and targets women and campaigns to take away women’s rights.
We need more men calling out misogyny, willing to stand with women, and take action. Will you join us? goodlawproject.org/petition/…

Rooney could have gone on TV every single day vocally opposing Israel's actions in Gaza & would have been able to still keep selling her books here. What she can't do is say proceeds from her books will go to a proscribed terrorist group. Zack knows this. He hopes you don't.

"The Lib Dem definition of transphobia was such that supporting the Equality Act would have been a disciplinary matter."
Depressing thread, showing the way policy and institutional capture can take root in a political party, and see standard practices and processes (and abiding by the law) chucked out of the window. The Lib Dem definition of transphobia was such that supporting the equality Act

The obvious male advantage is left in no doubt in this photo. How any sports trainer or event organiser can allow this to happen, shows how misogynistic they are. This is male cheating. #SaveWomensSport

And for clarity, Blount and Blunt are pronounced the same way. But I simplified it to Blunt as I was tired of people rhyming my name with “count”.

Rosemary Sutcliff's Aquila/Marcus series was one of the delights of my childhood; I borrowed them all from Odiham library. The Arthurian series was pretty good, too. @b_judah
I know it’s a young adult novel from 1954 — so demands a knowledge of the Roman Empire of a graduate today — but gosh, I just read this and it’s so so good!

A better alternative to all this misleading “guidance” is to comply with the Equality Act, which is the basis of how a court or Employment Tribunal will determine a dispute
University of Leeds: "Trans+ researchers should not be removed from gendered accommodation in cases where it would be as easy for those who are uncomfortable with their presence to be moved elsewhere." In other words, if a woman objects to a man in her accommodation, SHE must be moved.

If you have even the slightest liking for orchids, indulge yourself with one of these @Mariposa_Nature tours. Andrea Corso and @dunnjons are the guiding dream team, and Andrea will also guide you to the best arancini/gelato/cannoli you could hope to find.
A (very) small selection of the gem-like Ophrys bee orchids I've been privileged to see on my orchid-hunting forays on Sicily with my good friend and Team Mariposa co-leader, Andrea Corso, in recent years. I can't wait to return soon for these and more besides.

They can do that if they want, because Ukraine is a democratic country. Russians can't, because Putin is a dictator.
