An old tool for many but a NEW tool for us @TurfTrainer ….whether greens, collars, approaches or tees, we have noticed some texture and debris harvesting benefits…keeping them clean
Just had the chance to listen to this Tech Talk on Superintendent Radio Network.
In it Mark Lucas shares how he uses the TurfTrainer and why.

As per the bentgrass. The answer is best described as not much. We eliminated verticutting, core aeration and as Chuck mentioned, only topdressing in the late fall. We groom with @TurfTrainer and will solid tine/vent a couple of times per season. #disturbancetheory

Some nice pics from the past week. Aerated tees, finishing up some new cart paths, top dressing, turf training all greens, tees, and approaches. Lots of work/fun. Great start to the season. #golf #golfmaintenance #fairview #golflife #turflife #turftrainer #golfphotography #springgolf #2026Season

Similar concept, but a little different. Verticutting removes the thatch layer beneath the turf by cutting into it. Both cultural practices thin out the turf. We decided to use the brushes as verticutting may stress out the turf more during times of high temperatures.
